To clarify Rayne doesn't have a Master Cane... Master Canes are wands that give the user like a special ability that have nothing to do with their personal magic... In this case Carpaccio personal magic is the ability to share all damage and pain, while the Master Cane ability is to summon a Godness Statue that absorves all the pain and damage directed at Carpaccio (with a limit as we saw in the episode). Regarding Raynes, the thing that he did in episode 3 is something that all 3 liners can do, the ability to transform your regular wand in to a weapon with the name of a god (Usually related to the users personal magic) to be use in close combat but also to amplify the personal magical abilities of the user.

i really love the way they wrote carpaccio, because he really didn't understand what he was doing to other people. he saw people inferior to him because they could be beaten so easily whereas he couldn't. But fighting against mash made him come to the realisation of how horrifying pain really is, carpaccio now becoming aware of his actions that he never knew effected people so badly. It's not like carpaccio was a bad person through and through, it's just that he had no understanding of how bad the things that he was doing to other people were, which i can agree with you about how he might turn over a new leaf and improve on himself as a person now that he understands why people hated it so much

I don’t think Ames has a Master Cane. I think he’s a double liner that can use a triple line but can’t sustain it permanently yet. Soo then when he does reveal it, it unlocks the wands form. Same way dot is a single line but can boost up when at emotional peak, his extra lines show up (+). Cappacio has a master cane chosen by a god based on his magical ability that paired with the wand perfectly on birth. His magical ability of reflecting damage onto others paired well with the healing god. The two together is powerful but the user inflicts substantial pain and can still die. The wand gift is to absorb all pain, which is why he is so OP

The thing I love about Mashle is that, while it shares similarities to One Punch Man, Mashle isn't Saitama. Both emotionally and physically, he struggles in a way Saitama never had to. He couldn't beat Cell back in season 1, he had trouble with Carpaccio, and I have a good feeling that Desert Cane is probably stronger than him as well. Yes he's insanely strong, but he's not invincible, and it adds this special tension to the fights that most gag mangas don't have.

They're different kinds of mages, if you remember from season one it's mentioned that there's two kinds: White Mages that have more support based abilities And the Red Mages, which have more combat based abilities. Lance's family is known for their gravity magic, so I do believe it's a genetic thing (same with Dot and his sister both having explosion magic) but I suppose it doesn't apply when you're born a different type of mage.
