Yes. La Herradura in New Mexico hidden in a sketchy neighborhood in an industrial area. Best.Taco.Ever. Seriously. And I have been eating tacos for over 60 years. Also, Harlow in Sacramento (now closed), El Indio in San Diego (was underwhelmed) and La Texteria in Santa Rosa which was awesome. Squeeze In and Burger Me in Truckee, CA. I keep a list of where Guy has visited and we try to dine there whenever we are in that area. I really appreciate his charitable work and generosity, particularly feeding the firefighters and first responders in Northern California.

I worked on several Bobby flay shows and unfortunately food does get wasted because some times it gets burned on the grill and for the beauty shots of the food. We also had a culinary department just for those reasons. It was so much fun
@HunterMann2 жыл бұрын
I used to work on a lot of TV commercials in the lighting department and sometimes helped out with food styling. They would go through so much food and waste so much. One commercial for Chiquita bananas we used over 800 pounds of bananas just in the background, it easily could’ve been papier-mâché bananas because it was in soft focus, such waste. At the end of the shoot day the producer told me to go dump them in a dumpster behind our hotel. Instead I drove to a poor district and started giving away bags of bananas until they were gone.
@arri2755552 жыл бұрын
@@HunterMann I am a 1st AC and I understand about a soft focus. It's a shame about using real bananas just for that but I also understand that food stylists want to use the real thing as much as possible. Thank you for that I would have done the same thing 🤙🤙

A lot of his “charity” work is good but be certain he does some of it for tax write-offs… He may be popular on TV but in Marin County & Sonoma county he has a bad reputation and can be a real jerk when he comes into a restaurant, expecting to be treated like a king, unaware that some of the biggest Rockstars of the 70s got their start working in the kitchen of those same restaurants. I used to watch his diner show the first season or two, it gets very repetitious and is actually kind of nauseating especially if you start Counting how many times he actually chews the food before he swallows it. He averages one to three times chewing and then swallows it down his gullet, really disgusting and takes food porn to a whole new level
