I know an evangelist with the same problem. Someone asks him what he would like, he'd say something like Starbursts and then for the next 5 churches (because word got around) he was given so much Starbursts he got sick of them, lol. People want to go out of their way to show they care, but wind up overdoing it.

I didn't think that was convincing. Surely grown up professionals would know that when the boss says he likes something it doesn't mean he wants it all the time. More likely a good sound bite to use with the press?

@@dionlindsay2 U make a good point but in the scenario with the evangelist, I could see how that happens. People take a liking to U so when they find out U have a preference for some type of food/snack/drink, and they have the opportunity, they'd give it to U, if they can to show they care. About 3 familues found out one year that my brother (outgoing genuinely sweet person) loves pies, he got 3 different pies for his birthday that year. Rectangular, casserole-sized pies. Thank GOD our family had the foresight to not include pie on the menu. We just cooked everything thing else (cant remember any other dish from that year except the pie). We had pie for each meal for a few days until it was finished (even he got a bit tired of pie for a while after). He expressed his appreciation though❤, my younger brother.

This is every job in the restaurant industry. Every time you've gone out to eat, there's likely a line cook who's been working a 12-14 hour day to serve you, with no over-time pay. Oh, and that holiday he wanted off (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas?). Strong no. You work when you need to work. I couldn't imagine never cooking for myself or my family. Or if someone were cooking for me daily, never eating with them. It would take the intimacy and togetherness that a meal has away for me. If it were me I would choose a chef that could make meals I typically couldn't. I would do everything in my power to occasionally cook with them or at least be in the kitchen to draw inspiration from them. It may sound trivial but these people know your pallete your likes and dislikes from taste, texture, and presentation.
