Here in Maine they use Crisco for making whoopie pies it is vegetable shortening mixed with sugar and a little vanilla for the inside of whoopie pies that is the cheap way to make them no not everyone makes them that way but that is the original recipe and that is gross

Animal based is the best and proven choice that we've used for centuries. These giant corporations have done a good job demonizing what we've always eaten from mother nature. Butter, beef tallow and ghee are my go tos. I'm 25 and consume almost a stick of butter a week plus red meats and cheese and dairy. Great energy levels and overall health.
Lol. Glad someone else was bothered by how she says oil. Makes me cringe like how “moist” sounds.

It is more proof that the food industry wants black people, white Southerners, and Mexicans to be morbidly obese and wants to make this a generational cycle. This is how poor neighborhoods stay poor.

I know this is a year old but I'm glad I always have used lard I can get from a locally owned butcher ancher, well all the fat cut off. Not hard to render. Every thing else home made butter from the farmers market. Grandpa an grandma lived long lives an had very few health issues. Leard at a young age to know what's going in body. Crisco I keep for a vented heater in the bedroom . Big can lasts about a month.

My mom not only used seed oils for cooking, she sprayed everything with Pam, and she even made us eat Smart Balance and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter just because she was lactose intolerant. I don’t remember Crisco being a common feature in our household, but I remember fried chicken cooked with Shake and Bake more than once. That little southern girl in the old commercial is probably somebody’s grandma by now.
