My grandmother make brussel sprouts steamed in a metal colander in a pot of water. It makes really soft and juicy

Please, Mika, no offense, seriously. But I had them, and they were horrible, just like ALL Brussels Sprouts

@@tomperkins5657none taken they are horrible I just find steamed Brussel sprouts soft and juicy would never agree to them tasting great. They have this horrible sour and aftertaste in then. Us siblings us kids we used to call them Baby cabbage cos they look exactly like a baby cabbage
@@mikabankurofuto9879 I used to hear the same thing when friends would say, "If you had my grandmother's liver, you...". And I would reply, "I had your grandmother's liver...and it sucked!"

We like Brussels sprouts roasted in olive oil and salt. When slightly cartelized we mix them with toasted walnuts and coat the whole mix in Pomegranate Molasses. YUM!

Love the info, love the video. The only qualm i have is the fact that they've designed sprouts to not be bitter. Singled out what causes it. Well, they're bitter for a reason. That's where health benefits are also. They taste how they taste for REASONS. But great job on the video sweetheart!!!

June Cleaver should take notes on this the next time she decides to serve Brussel sprouts to her family, especially "the Beaver." 😅😂

My favorite Brussels sprouts are the frozen ones from Trader Joe's. They carry regular & with parmesan cheese. For the plain ones I add avocado oil, sea salt, garlic powder, a bit of ground sage & a smidgen of Italian seasoning & roast for 20 minutes longer than the instructions call for so they get beautifully caramelized but are still nice & creamy on the inside. The parmesan ones don't require any extra effort. Both are absolutely delicious! 💜

Wash, trim, and cut in half. Steam cut side up for 7 mins. Let air dry for 3 mins. Roll in oil, season with pepper and bake cut side down on parchment lined pan with oil @ 350f for 20 mins or until brown on cut side. No salt until slightly cooled and plated. Salt, while baking, draws out water from the center of the sprout and prevents crispy bits.

I have great memories of Brussel Sprouts, and, then, before eating adding a couple splashes of vinegar! Brussel Sprouts are my favorite vegetable! My brother and,I loved our greens and, we always could eat our share to, we always added apple cider vinegar on all of green’s before we ate them! Every time my mom was going to cook anything green she had to cook extra! Spinach and Cabbage, Cauliflower and Broccoli! Seriously, when, my mom cooked cabbage she had to fix 4 heads of cabbage or more, because, my brother and, I would eat a whole head of cabbage ourselves, it was the same thing with spinach, me and, my brother would eat a whole can ourselves! And, Brussel Sprouts are little cabbages and, so, mom would have to cook a double batch and, there would only be half left and, yes, we would eat the leftovers the next day! I myself have tried eating Brussel Sprouts in different ways but, I still like them the traditional way. These days, I can’t eat Brussel Sprouts but, only on a rare occasion, I still love them, but, do to a health issue, it prevents me from eating them too often, same with other greens.

Growing up in the early 60s' boiled brussels sprouts & and canned spinach, boiled and served with vinegar and a boiled eggs was the recipe for horror for a 10 yr old! I still won't try boiled spinach (I even tried eating it like Popeye), no go...but I've learned to like Brussels sprouts..
