It would be wonderful if ALL Muslim women would unite behind the Iranian women and remove their hijabs. Many women are forced to wear them by their father, spouse or older brothers. Or worse, they wear them so they aren't stared at or getting wolf whistled at by men in their communities. Masih seems amazing. I wish her all the best in moving her country out of the 15th century.

The Mullah regime in Iran has successfully penetrated major academic and media institutions in Western Europe and U.S. with their Palestinian and other Arab activist allies who highjacked every movement where they scream Islamophobia if any issue of human rights abuses are raised that can’t be blamed on America or Europe as a distraction. No one from feminist organizations is even outraged that Iran and other repressive regimes serve on international U.N. bodies where issues of women’s rights are monitored. Again, Western women don’t care because they have always been racist towards brown women from Muslim countries. And they will tell Masih or other Muslim women to shut up as if they know our cultures better.

A dude had commented "why is this an American issue?". I typed my reply but he deleted his comment. So to all the people who are wondering why this is an American/western issue: It is an American issue cuz Iranians are fighting to topple the Islamic Republic. An Islamic Republic in Iran means more support to terrorist groups in Middle East and that means more Amrican soldiers would die and suffer in ME if such a regime continue to exist. An Islamic Republic means more support to Russia against Ukraine. An Islamic Republic means 80 milion Iranians, 40m Iraqis, 40m Afghans, 15m Syrians, 30m Yemenis and more people in the ME suffer cuz the regine wants to expand its Shiite Empire. Caring about these things is not only an Amercian issue but a world issue unless you argue you do not care about human values.

Junk. I’ve met them. I know one guy who can’t go back because he skipped it before he did his military service. They deserve the s-hole that is their country. Most western democracies were born from blood sacrifice. You have to fight for your freedom. But they don’t fight. They run away. And watch from afar as their relatives perpetuate a Stone Age culture and religion centric society. You get the country you tolerate. And if you aren’t willing to fight and die, then Iran is doomed to be left to the local idiots who have no real problems with how society is run there. Hey Iranians - fix your own problems, and create the society you want. Only a nations own people can free themselves, no one will do it for you. 🙄

The Prophet Mohammed has a good message. Some people have turned that into a power/money grab. One other thing which I think is important: The culture and history of Iran pre-dates the advent of Islam. The people of Iran basically invented culture and civilization, and gifted it to us savages. 😂🤔 Second, the U.S. had fabulous relations with the nation of Iran for a long time before the IR showed up. Bill keeps asking "why don't liberals see this" in regards to militant Islam in the Middle East. As someone who has been active in Democratic Party politics my entire adult life, I can answer that question quite easily. Too many Democrats and left wingers in general - particularly of the younger generations - simply have a problem with the concept that you can be nonwhite and/or non Christian and have regressive views. And that unfortunately in many if not most of these nations where Islam is the dominant religion, such views are the rule and not the exception.

Bill, thank you for having this courageous and articulate woman on as a guest. Americans need a reality check like this on a regular basis. We truly have no idea what others experience in countries with repressive and brutal regimes. Seeing video on TV or social media reminds me of Plato’s allegory of the cave -- all we are doing is watching ‘shadows’ on the wall, the actually reality is beyond what most Americans can imagine.

Masih is a true social justice warrior... not the kind we all ridicule. I also appreciate what she said about Islamophobia. I don't care if you're offended... freedom of religion and gender equality is more important than fear and intimidation. Any believer of liberal values and human rights should support the brave Iranians fighting to take their country back and by liberal, I mean the actual meaning of the word... not the ridiculous ways its been misused. I'm sure that Iranians also want to protect their culture and religion... that's fine and they shouldn't lose their identity. However, this has to be done with democracy and human rights. I pray that, this time, they'll get it right.

Speaking from the prospective of a black American, I understand the frustration and anger. 60 years ago here in America there were separate black and white restrooms, restaurants movie theaters and ect. The Civil Rights movement for black Americans did not happen until 1965. So yes less then 60 years ago black Americans were marching and protesting for equal rights. Not hundreds of years ago, less then 60 years!

This message is for Bill’s social media monitors. I have some constructive advice about tackling this problem of liberal objections toward criticizing Islam’s worst practices. He cares so very much about this issue and he is right to do so. But he is watering down his message by not getting a clear concise talking point that makes any thinking person say, “Ahha, I’ve never heard it put that way but Bill is right.” He had an opportunity to use that summarizing phrase here in this interview and he didn’t do it. But what is the magic phrase that is irrefutable?? Well he already uttered it on his episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Here it is… These liberals are coming from an instinct to protect, which is correct. *However, they are so tolerant that they are tolerating intolerance from Islamic cultures.* He can say that phrase and then ask each and every guest (on that subject), “Do you agree?” If he is a broken record on this eventually the opposition won’t be able to sustain this contradiction in their own minds and the fever will break among the left. Eventually a NY Times OpEd will run which cites Bill’s position and use that exact line and then the masses of liberals will start to really shift in a big way. And the reason is that line is so bulletproof and short and catchy that it can’t help but convince others. Please please please I’m begging you to get him to adhere to message discipline and try to say that as often as possible and get Islamic guests and analysts ti repeat it. I’ve used that line with about 20 friends of mine from across the political spectrum and I could see it click with all but three of them. It’s like when a kid finally gets a math concept that she’s been struggling with for weeks. That line is powerful. Please use it often and in the exact same form each time. Bill likes to be able to explain things off the cuff it seems but this is the time for the opposite. The perfect canned line that’s unbeatable. Please make him use it. After all he invented it (as far as I can tell). Take it to the next level.

5:25 100%. Humans really need to drop the obsession with hyperbole. Not everything is a phobia. And frankly if people were as irrationally fearful as a the ubiquitousness of the term phobe would indicate, then the pandemic would never have occurred because everyone to be too afraid of others.
