I grew up in Iran and am fortunate enough to live in US now. I’ve seen it all firsthand. Once my sister and I fully covered with proper hejab were taken by these morality guide to a station only because someone called on us that we were laughing while walking on the street. Yes we were talking and laughing but not loud or inappropriately. The worst part was the way we were yelled at and treated like animals but we knew we had to stay quiet and not talk back. This one was just one tiny example. I can write a book about my other experiences with this regime. I love Iran and people of Iran but this regime is nasty

Told in a personal stories about herself and her family all the way from the days BEFORE the Shah of Iran was installed by western governments looking to control oil, through the Khomeni revolution, and into current times...in exile by herself in Europe. Christiane Amanpour you're a great woman. I've been a fan of Amanpor for a long, long time and she never disappoints, great journalist with a great set of guts and courage to stand to a president-dictator. Your support for women's rights and particularly for Iranian women is greatly valued.

Christiane Amanpour is one of my favorite journalists. She was an extraordinary war correspondent & slowly came out of the field & has had her show for many, many years. Knew she was of middle eastern ancestry, but to be of Iranian ancestry & be the extraordinary journalist she is speaks volumes abt her continued work ethic & her determination to shine a spotlight & tell the stories that need to be told abt #HumanRights .. #WomynsRightsR #HumanRights b/c women R people too. #ThankYou Trevor : #America loves you.✌🏾🌹💞🌹

How is Ebrahim Raisi a tyrant? He is a democratically elected ruler of his country and whether people like it or not mandatory hijab has been the law in Iran since the Constitution of Iran was written. He's only doing what an American president would do if faced with a similar uprising against laws that everyone in the country voted for. Lots of people forget that the majority of Iranians voted for the current constitution and support mandatory hijab. They just aren't upper class, don't know English, and can't move to the West so people never hear from them.

@@fark69 : Democratically elected in an Authoritarian country??? Where the so-called Morality Police can just pull in any woman, pass judgment, and exact brutally, excessive, death- inducing punishment??? Where is the due process in this "democratic" state???Total oxymoron. 😡🤬🤡

@@fark69 For Ebrahim Raisi to allow the torment & killing of his own people to keep going on is a Tyrant. If he was a true president he wouldn’t let what’s happening in country happen & by the way the reason she didn’t wear her hijab was because it wasn’t required to in this country, I’m pretty sure if she was in Iran she would have put one on out of respect to their culture, but he did what he did so he wouldn’t appear weak in front of his people.

it must be hard to watch your old home state. I just hope all those brave women build up enough pressure to break the current regime. When I saw the first video snippets on the news it just crushed me. It looks that they are so determined that they even risk their own life, on the other hand, it seems like a real fight or big demonstration is the only way to freedom from the fundamentalist regime.

Now I already admired Christiane Amanpour because when I was in high school I used to watch all sorts of news media well except Fox News but I used to watch a lot of news keep up with the world ahead of me so I would always watch CNN MSNBC ABC everything you name it and I've seen a few of her interviews and I love the directness of her interviews she got to the point she didn't beat around the bush with anybody that She interviewed so to see that she's done this she just shows me yet again why she's an amazing person but also anchor. I mean they wanted her to wear a headscarf in New York for the interview. New York! Are you serious Iranian rule doesn't even follow into New York what the heck?!

It's funny because I'm an English teacher and one of my classes it's a text about Christiane Amanpour kinda like a short text about her life/acheivments. Questions are about the text which is anormal reading comprehension but hte 2nd pasrt I changed and ask abouot personal opinions bout her and her profession. Modesty aside I found that amazing and it's always fantastic to see my student's reactions and opinions. I whish I can meet you both!
