I was really hoping they'd bring over the exhibit fencing system from Zoo, and to have restricted areas be a gameplay mechanic to go along with security guards, park safety ratings, etc.

Despite the issues with the UI, I'm loving the QoL improvements to the building. Having tools to measure and snap to specific increments without a grid piece is gonna make things much smoother. And I absolutely cannot wait to play around with the improved coaster builder. Smooth rides are gonna be much more attainable with far less work.

People are already building crazy good movie rides. Can't wait what some of them can do with the new ability to move scenery. Space battle rides will be next level, but we know that the real craziness comes with the tools being used in unexpected ways. Optical illusions are totally possible with scaleable objects, too. It's gonna be next level.

Yeah, dark rides are gonna pop off with all the crazy stuff you can do, especially cheesing the "attach scenery to car" feature having a pretty generous radius. We'll see!

For the hotkey issues, I'm going to assume they can be rebound like they are able to be in most games. Will say spacebar for play/pause is pretty much standard for most simulation games, and I remember in PlanCo1 that being one of the most annoying things for me.

PlanCo one had some weird hot key choices. Copy not being ctrl+C throws me every time I play after a break.

Used P for break. Like back in Anno when I played it. Most newer games have spacebar. Civ VI has it, but for next Action.

I've never realised this, but attaching scenery to rollercoasters unlocks SO much potential, not just for theming but immersion. You could build attached Go-Pros and on-ride cameras.

@@hopefulheritage I'm really hoping they make a change to the UI before release, as it was universally panned from all of us that previewed it. Without a change I great highly detailed projects will be so tedious they won't be worth it.

If they saw you doing stuff with speakers and they chimed in to "help"...they were watching everyone play. So, they saw players' actions which would be instinctual. They saw all the mouse right button clicks while building coasters. They saw the fumbling around with menu folder in a menu folder in a menu folder. They saw the UI working against players. They didn't go to all this trouble to let a curated group of players get an early access play time just out of the kindness of their hearts. They were watching...and learning game control features not being intuitive for players. Now they know what needs tweeked in time for the final product.

9:48 - That's a mod to give you smooth forward / smooth backward in PC1. This one looks even better though because the PC1 mod gets rid of height/roll/turn/all smoothing options. So you can't JUST smooth one aspect with the PC1 mod. With this new PC2 smoothing tool, you get the best of both worlds. AND the smoothing strength tool, I'm guessing, is to help get rid of the need to hit the smooth button 10000 times. Or hitting it once and it over-smooths.

I’m now realising how many features were exclusive to the console edition of PC1, the grid snapping for props, frontier workshop (instead of steam workshop) and radial menu are from there.

@@maskedbandit102 A lot of the issues PC players seem to be having is that they don’t have their keybinds set up as this UI style is heavily reliant on keybinds, like the “close UI” hud button and tab swapping didn’t seem to be bound which speeds up gameplay immensely.

I was asking this for a long time but hope they can add options on coaster supports where we can change the direction where it goes like the catwalk on Copperhead Strike Mack coaster from PC1 (and more realistic styles and options).

Why changing the ui of planco1 and zoo? Why changing something that works? Why making it so complicated? Huge dealbreaker for me, if they dont bring back the exact same UI from planco1/ zoo

I actually tried but couldn't get it super dark. I made a box and put a roof on top--it dimmed the interior but not DARK. Cool to see it might be a legit feature in the game!

One of the things that bugged me with fancy path textures in PC-1 was seeing guests strolling by ankle deep (or sometimes close to knee deep) in the asphalt, tiles, stone, dirt, gravel, etc. I noticed none of that here. Is that fixed in PC-2? Thanks for your thoughts, sir.

I think if you saw that that was b/c people were using path covers? I don't remember guests clipping through paths in PC1. I think the flexibility of the new path system will make path covers less necessary?

I'm a bit miffed that some of the "staples" of a theme park are behind an extra paywall, but seeing as the Deluxe version is similar in price to most AAA titles, it seems worth it. Glad you're hyped!

Finally, I can shower. Watching all these videos makes me realize how different the console version already is from the PC version. I am already so used to all the advanced move methods and ways to use the UI. I think they pulled it closer to the console version for PlanCo 2, to make the development process faster. That’s my theory.

Excited but sad to find out the game is more made for controller which can be seen in a lot of things (look at rudi’s new vid) and stuff like not fixing the water coaster diving in the water (still the weird angle that it dives in) seems like they wanted to cheap out on some things to make others which stand out look better….

Building backwards seems a bit of foresight. My pc died and ive been playong the ps5 version for my fix of pc1. Its leaving plus soon :(. The non grid unit move tool was from console. The ui looks like consoles, which sometimes really confused me as a pc player. Credit to frontier ive thoroughly enjoyed my time with pc1 console. Ive got to the final missions of campaign and im going for the platinum. With no pc i may have to get pc2 ps5 and double dip later on pc but first ill need to get pc1 for console.

@maskedbandit102 it doesn't always work well, I found for ages, the nested menus a pain, for some reason I couldn't get my head around the triangle and circle to move back and forth in menus, and as awesome as the controls are a mouse is still better. Yeah let's hope they can iron out any UI issues or make the pc one more user configurable.

If I look at how they handled Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo post-launch, I'm not that worried. Even if some of the build issues are still in the game at launch, I'm hopeful they'll fix it. But some of the more egregious issues like the constant closing of menus definitely need to be fixed before launch IMO. Building is such a huge part of these games, just cannot start out being that annoying.

Yeah, a bunch of the things that irk me I'm fine with and I'm sure Frontier will address most of them during the game's life. But the UI is SUCH a requirement to get right they need to fix it pre-launch.

Your issues with the UI and windows closing is a console thing. That’s how it is on PlanCo 1 on console. My guess is they tried to standardize the UI to work for both pc and console.

Because they are basically closed beta testers and frontier choose those 'expert builders'. They create content and produce hype for the game. Their input is very very important

Because we were told to give feedback. A lot of us also emailed Frontier with the same things we put in the vids. Personally, I want to give an honest take of my time, not just come off as 1) a shill for Frontier or 2) someone who only complains. But I think it's a good sign that pretty much everyone has panned the UI. Hope Frontier listens and changes it before release.

Of course you were told to, and I hope you would give constructive feedback, everyone is asked to give feedback, we all give feedback subconsciously too whether we know it or not, data analytics, etc. The best and only Feedback of value is constructive/productive, helpful, etc. Feedback helps a company (in this case developer) know it’s heading down the right track within its purview and scope of the game. Feedback is thrown out when it’s beyond the scope or purview of the game or is simply unhelpful. Now, having watched many content creators show this particular pre-release build, giving their own personal criticisms, it’s not lost on me what the point of being a content creator is, and what the point of subjectivity is… however, what is lost on me is saying, for example, something in the pre-release alpha/beta is a deal-breaker, or big miss, etc, when you know damn well that feedback is to be given and that you aren’t testing the actual release game build, hey. Not to mention menus are a necessity, necessary evil (if you don’t like menus), if they didn’t have menu on top of menu, many would complain there are no menus and it was all a big unsorted mess. Opinions are like azholes, everyone has them. We know there are placeholders in the current game build, we know the UI has already gone through a handful of iterations. I don’t think anyone would call you a shill if you didn’t have anything negative to say, and even if they did (?), who cares, you do you. Again this is not personal, just an observation about the process used and the critiquing of the content creators within the broader community… it strikes me as odd.

There seems to be, and the log is actually on a track in the picture, like maybe it has the ability to toggle track looks per section like some previous rides we've had. Otherwise, it'll make for a good free flowing water look finally without having to bury the water trough in the terrain. xD There was also the traditional large boat drop and water coaster.

Great video! As much as I am extremely excited to play the game, I 100% think there's lots of little problems. Just like any game (especially Frontier) there will be lots of bugs. I wouldn't tell anyone to start building a big or even a MEGA park until the game is around 4 months in. Give the game some time and I think everything will get fixed. i would like to see quiker boarding for coaster trains. So when people exit, the gates for entering the train opens earlier. This could really speed things up a bit. Its not a dealbreaker offcourse! i think this game is gonna be awesome!

4:38 AHHHHKKKK why are fences still rotated about their center and not an edge for easy sliding in the X directions to make flawless connected custom fences AHHHHHHHH DEVS PLEASE. Modders got it right on the workshop. 10:47 Cannot, the items that have already reached their scaling limit stop scaling. For instance if you start with objects at 100%, and a rock which has a higher cap than most at 500%, when grouped, the smaller objects just stop once you've gone 50% and they hit their low end cap of 50%, then rock is only at 450 and it will keep going. Source: Jonti. Losing Advanced Move being able to replace a scenery object in the existing location with a new one is a huge Loss. Huuuuuuuuuuuge L. Not sure if having that localized grid will help or replace that need, but L.

I very much disagree. It's a new game with new features and several great QoL improvements. It's not perfect, but it feels like a natural successor--not a cash grab. But that's your opinion and you certainly don't have to buy it!

@@maskedbandit102 then play it and you’ll see it’s trash. I’ve seen a few KZbinrs play with it and it’s exactly the same as in the first game. It does not feel like we’re ’truly There‘. They advertised it like they implanted a new first person mode the way they worded it but turns out it’s exactly the same like the previous game!

I see a pretty drastic difference between the first-person camera of the first game and the second game. It looks a lot more immersive.

Gotta say, I hate the addition of dealing with power to everything. Shouldn't be a part of this game. Does anyone find it adds _anything_?l Just uninteresting busy work and a lot of ground clutter. Really hope you can turn that cr@p off.

I'm sure it's a setting you can turn off in sandbox. We were asked not to go into the settings menu during our play.
