This is going to sound so minor, but I’m actually impressed buy the windshield wipers. That is a heck of a lot of force on them when going through or getting hit by a wave, and they absolutely need to stay functional in those conditions so you can see.

It's probably like $1 million boat the owner is probably reading these comments and after investing years and so much money into one project he comes across this comment😳 Nice boat but☝️love the windshield wipers😳
I was an engine manufacture's tech on a builder's trial on a 44 foot pilot boat on the UK south coast when the coxwain drove it through a big'un - green water way up above the wheelhouse windscreen - the boat just shook itself like a dog and carried on - I went back to my dials and gauges down the engine space for'ard - nice and warm down there!

At least you got Wipers and some good times on the dash. I guess all you really need is a strong boat, and sealed up tight. Like a Man or Woman inside a big bobber. I don't know squat about boats and big waves,all I've got is a small pontoon boat a fishing rod and hopefully the right bait. Hopefully that design will save lives. Good for you sir,and keep up the good work!!
@fz1000red2 жыл бұрын
I have a fair amount of offshore fishing and boat handling experience but none of it is professional. The wave cutting hull designs are fascinating to watch in serious chop but they were very different engineering designs. The yellow craft looks like it is meant to cut to a certain point then the hull flattens out to act like a sort of stopper rather than let the bow go under like the red hull does. Pretty fascinating stuff! 👊💥👊

Lifeboats are not the fastest or the most comfortable but they are incredibly tough and sea-worthy. They are retired and sold for less arduous duties long before the structure is compromised.
@MrDrivingFaster4 жыл бұрын
I admit I am not worthy, but didn’t they need a bit more throttle to ride through these big waves? Was it cavitation from the jumping and the foam that slowed then down or was that the right way to ride these breaking waves?
@harryvanhoo72354 жыл бұрын
I see what you mean. Any slower and there is a chance of losing steerage but any faster and the boat would leap off the back of the wave into air and come down really hard. I guess they have tried it a little each way and come up with this speed. I am supposing that the 45 degree angle was done to try out the boat's handling. It is very hard to hear his voice, too much bass and music too loud, on my sound anyway. Cheers

I'm sure (?) that boat can right itself if knocked over...but it doesn't look like it has enough mass on the bottom to do it. Also, when the stern is repeatedly flying up in the air coming off a crest does it stress the shaft/engine when the RPMs suddenly race up high with no resistance?
@minervajones12323 жыл бұрын
So...which of these two boat designs is superior for these wave conditions?
