UPDATE: Over a year in and I'm still liking the forks. They have been put through their paces with moving logs at the new property, and the only scar so far is the keyholes for where the chain binders hook are a little collapsed in (still hold fine though). These forks definitely reduce lift capacity of the tractor due to the extra moment arm, but for most things it works fine - I unloaded a full size refrigerator on a pallet with no issues.

Nice tractor, I have the same one! I am thinking about doing a quick attach conversion so as you said, I can have better visibility with the forks and what I am picking up. Thanks for the video!
@MasonDixonAcres4 жыл бұрын
I’ve thought about the quick attach as well. Someone on here has a good video of one on the same tractor, and they built an awesome looking grapple as well. I’ll probably just buy an old skid steer if I could ever afford it 😅

Love those good ol' Ford Tractors. I have 3 Fords: 1939 Ford 9n with original Danuser post hole digger 1949 Ford 8n with Sherman Step-Down Transmission and original canopy 1979 Ford 3600 Diesel with bucket which is the one I'm looking for fork lift attachments

Have just acquired an older Massey w/ a front end loader - quick attach unavailable as well. Will be looking into these Titans once we get her up and going. Thanks!

Enjoyed the tractor action and tips as I watch at 5am in deep cold of day after Christmas 2022. I mean DEEP. Us southerners will remember it. Wondering if you really must have the chain binders installed or will the forks get pushed to the side on the first loading attempt on something really heavy? Yes, probably. Did not know can drop in 2x4s to stand vertically for protection. That makes me want to opt out of the binder rig. My little rig won't lift but about a 1000 lbs. Good information to think over.
@MasonDixonAcres Жыл бұрын
Yeah that cold front hit us bad as well up here, glad it's over. The chain binders definitely help keep the forks stable if you are really pushing into something like brush or going under logs. If you're just doing light pallet work you don't need them. Anything over 400lbs or so I'd say it would be better for both the forks and your bucket to use the binders.
@cooper8318 Жыл бұрын
I keep the binders on mine to keep from bending my bucket. They really tighten things up. I wouldn't go without them
@missyrabbit52503 жыл бұрын
I have these forks. Unfortunately, my bucket has teeth and it is difficult to get forks to grip properly. I just ordered a pair for the ratchet binders to see if that will help. Thank you for this video.
@MasonDixonAcres3 жыл бұрын
The ratchet binders help a TON. I’ve been lazy and left them off a few times, and one wrong move with the loader will leave them sideways or falling off. They are rock solid with the binders on

Dow do the teeth interfere? I'm curious because I have teeth on mine but haven't gotten my forks yet
@missyrabbit5250 Жыл бұрын
@@SilverStarHeggisist they interfere with the placement of the forks. For the most part, I don't have trouble, but sometimes the teeth are right where I want to place the forks. I did get the ratchets, and they help keep the forks in place , when lifting heavy objects. I will be welding some hooks onto the bucket, for some chains and straps to hook on to.
@SilverStarHeggisist Жыл бұрын
@@missyrabbit5250 ah ok thanks. I was worried it prevented them from getting on almost entirely. I plan to use the chains I already have for tying things down with them when I get them. It's almost ashame no one makes them backwards to use with 4 way buckets. Are your teeth bolted on or welded on?

I saw a 3-point forks that attach to the back of your tractor advertised by Titan!!. Little more expensive but they have an advantage with better visibility (you do not have to look over bucket) and most of the weight lifted will be on the rear wheels!. No ware and tare on the bucket and no wheel spin (better weight distribution). I am going to look into that option. My Tractor is INTERNATIONAL 260A, 74 HP. And I could use a set of pallet forks...
@MasonDixonAcres3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a good option if you are only moving things close to the ground. The ones on the loader are great for reaching/dumping higher, such as piling up brush
@ebnhahn19933 жыл бұрын

@Frank Maggard So basically more akin to pallet jacks then a forklift

Be careful of too much weight or twist to forks can bend / warp your bucket. Length of steel or pipe with t-bolts that go through key slots of forks then weld chain to center and use one anchor point has worked for me, allows wood to be put in pockets.
