2nd Attack on Normandy in result nearly entire crew is abducted by The Collectors
You play as Joker in this short mission to stop the collectors of fully taking Normandy and this is the only mission you get to play another character in ME2 (as far as i know)

Honestly, I was watching this video to try and figure out if the Praetorian was attacking the crew on the top deck or trying to shove them inside itself. I was too scared to watch when playing, knowing that Joker could die if I wait.

i'm doing a psycho renegade playthrough now where i will do as few loyalty missions as possible and also be 3 missions late to suicide mission, Shepard won't die in any case because I have a mod that lets him survive suicide mission even with zero team members left

With the remaster coming to game pass recently, I finally got the chance to play the series. This scene disturbed me, especially when you hear the screams of the crew through walls and around corners. Worst part was the girl getting dragged into the elevator.

Not just any random girl, it's Yeoman Kelly Chambers, who notifies Shepard of crew matters and new messages throughout the game. She's also possible love interest, though it's kind of side romance thing.

This scene is worthy of every game award out there! I was terrified and inspired to finish all at the same time. Hearing your crew scream and fight for their lives was scary and the moments of “Joker! You are the only one who can do this!” “We will hold them off as long as we can!“

I am so confused as well. It would've really made the game more interesting if you brought your two, and all other soldiers were captured. Just Shep, Joker, EDI, and your two guys vs the collectors. You find the troops first and the rest of the mission plays the same if Bioware needed it to.

This is the most contrived story moment in the entire game: The WHOLE team (11 altogether by that point in the story leave in a shuttle to an UNKNOWN mission- usually you can just take 3). The AI calls the guy with brittle bones who sits AT THE OTHER END of the ship to go to the AI core behind the med bay, while Dr Chakwas is already stationed there. Then he has to crawl WITH HIS BRITTLE BONES through the ducts to the engineer room to unlock the drive core. While 2 minutes earlier there were at least 3 people stationed right next the core. Plus its funny that they took everyone, BUT the guy who can't run. It's also funny that this whole thing started because they installed an unknown IFF system into the drive core that comes from a highly advanced robotic god creature that comes from the “dark space“' without ANY precausion. ME2 had no thought put into it at all.

I agree with the sentiment but it's possible EDI contacted other crew members to help her, but they refused to give an AI control of the ship. It's also possible EDI knew ahead of time they wouldn't allow it. It's possible only Joker has clearance for parts of the process, or, EDI wanted to be unshackled and as unlikely as that may seem, went straight for the guy that she could most easily convince to do it.

@@Dimitrije_Sukovic Your idea of writing the game instead of the developers is respectable to say the least. Unfortunately, that only shows the lack of story that is present in the game itself. Just to counter your point: All of the people on the ship are at that time part of a terroristic pro-human paramilitary organisation called Cerberus. They already have a council-forbidden AI on the ship. Why would they think of sticking to some council rules when ALL of their lives are at stake if they dont unshackle the AI? When it comes to the “clearance to work the ship's core“: The three people present in engineering are the three engineers responsible for the ship- why should they not have the clearance to “activate the primary drive in engineering“? If it was meant as a joke from your side, then excuse me for not being able to read it as such- sarcasm is sometimes hard to read.

@@christophschutz4470 Yeah, you are right on them having to clarify this instead of me, still, I figured it might help you give the game the benefit of the doubt and possibly enjoy this mission more. It's not Council rules they'd be breaking by unshackling the AI, but Cerberus protocol; also evidenced by Miranda's reaction. The three present in engineering *possibly* wouldn't have clearance to alter EDI's limitations, assuming that while neither the pilot can unshackle it, he can alter certain parameters regarding combat or emergency protocol. Obviously the engineers would have clearance to work with matters regarding specifically the engine.

Starting with the question why we collect 11 soldiers to defeat an insectlike space-faring race in a gigantic ship instead of building some kind of defense mechanism or improving the ship (which somehow was a sidequest in the game)... Not leaving everything for “fans“ to fill in the holes with their made-up stories. Like I said: it is just the MOST CONTRIVED moment in the game, not the only one. Would it have been just this one stupidity I could have overlooked it as I did in ME1. There was a similar moment in ME1 (which was flawed as a game in many ways but still enjoyable): We have an omnitool constantly on us for analysis which includes the scanning of residues, recording noises and visual inputs and assimilate repair- and modification-modules from present materials, but we have NO PROOF that it was Saren who killed fellow Spectre Nihlus. Neglecting all the possible clues we could provide with the tech at hand we have a survivor who the council asari could simply mindmelt with. Like I said: storybreaking, but despite this storypoint the rest of the game tried to stick to the world it built.

Ok i do have to say, why did it have to be Joker? Like hes crippled and unarmed, mea while the crew are running around with guns. Not saying crew is sitting around with their thumbs up their butts, but Joker isn't the best choice for something so time critical. ALSO No broken bones? Dude was flown back onto his ass, climbing ladders, and his closest approximation of running.

We learn in 3 that Joker's Brittle Bone Disease isn't as bad as he's always thought it is - this is actually the moment he starts to question if the severity of his diagnosis is correct. Remember, the first(-ish) line he says to you is "Give me a ship and I can make her dance. Just don't expect me to dance, unless you like the sound of breaking bones" and then in 3 he actually does dance with EDI.
