Played this part right after my dad died. I don't think there is a heaven but the thought of him saying he was proud of me through Anderson's last words made me cry, I never cry. Rest in peace EMTP Stephen Wayne Bullock.

You probably won't see this, but it won't ever truly heal. But yoy learn to live with it. Some days a breeze or a song reminds you and its all over again. But it heals faster each time. Just know that he would be proud of you no matter who you are or what you do.

This part of the game always makes me tear up. I don’t ever remember my father telling me he was proud of me. So when Anderson said it I broke.
@moisemensah8233 Жыл бұрын
May he RIP. My father recently told me he was proud of me. I teared up and thought about this song. As I came to terms with the loss of my mom who passed five months ago today, I hope you found solace and peace since then. I wish you happiness.

From the start, you fought for those who abandoned humanity at every turn. Gave your mind to the warrior inside, bared the ultimate burden of being counted on to succeed in such a feet. Despite all you have been through, the death you've seen, the grief you've suffered from fallen friends and taken lovers. No matter the cost, you put every soul first. You may not be proud of some of the choices you made, but if there's an afterlife, I'm sure those who've fallen due to those choices are smiling with teary eyes and understanding. Despite overwhelming guilt, you made their deaths mean something and even if you've betrayed some to get here... Well, I know you would've avoided that, if there was another way. Shepard, those people loved you, they followed you to the death because they believed. they believed their death would give you reason to carry on, to fight for their memory, to honour them. They were the most loyal, and their loyalty was not the kind you command, but the kind you share. You're a damn hero shepard, I'm sure they all agree. You never gave up, Shepard. despite it all, you made us believe. You did good son, you did good and for it all... I'm proud of you, we all are. Keelah se'lai.

Agentcoolguy1 Yeah, right in the feels. I threw my controller and cried. Then, I shot the Illusive Man on my Sentinel. My Vanguard and Soldier have both made him (Illusive) commit suicide. Anderson was my fave character in the Alliance (other than Adm. Hackett), and to see him go out like that made me tell ME3 to frak off.
@Agentcoolguy19 жыл бұрын
And, to add insult to injury, most of his dialogue in that scene was removed. The original was so much better than what we got in the final release. ;_; RIP Anderson

To anyone that reads this. Let it be known that heroes will rise, they will stand until the end, and eventually they will fall, but never they're legacy. Never the world they left behind. Whether the world is good or bad, their legacy lives on. Heroes need not speak. For when they are gone, the world will speak for them.

Bioware gotta be the best freaking company in gaming industry. Oh my God, how emotional can a trilogy be? Tears went down my face last night when i was thinking: Will we ever live in a universe like Mass Effect? Not only the interstellar travels and a life in other worlds like we dream of, but the overrall peace and unity on Earth and the courage that the humanity shows to the rest of the universe, that earned the turians so much respect, especially after the First Contact War.

Shepard: We did it. Anderson: Yes. We did. [...] It's... quite a view. Shepard: Best seats in the house. Anderson: You ever wonder, how things would have been different? How our lives would be... different if this... hadn't happened? Shepard: Sure. Anderson: I never had a family, Shepard. Never had children. Shepard: There will be time enough for that now. Anderson: *faint chuckle* I... I think that ship has sailed. What about you? Ever think about settling down? Shepard: Yeah. I like the sound of that. I'm not sure I'd be much good at it, though. Anderson: Sure you would. I think you'd make a great dad. Shepard: Thanks. Anderson: Think how proud your kids would be. Telling everyone... their dad is Commander Shepard! Shepard: I don't know about that... not everything I've done is something to be proud of. Anderson: God... feels like years since I just... sat down. Shepard: I think you earned a rest. [...] Anderson? Anderson: Mmm. Shepard: Stay with me. We're almost through this. Anderson: You did good, son. You did good. I'm... proud of you. Shepard: Thank you, sir. [...] Anderson? (From the Extended Final Anderson Conversation mod, using dialogue cut from the game)

It is a sin to create such a legendary trilogy only to end it. And it's a bigger sin to kill one of the best characters in it.... Rest In Peace, David Anderson. You might not have been a biological dad, but you were always my true father... And I'm proud to call you that...

I just know that some time, some where, I went on a great adventure, I traveled through space, and met a lot of great people. Guided by my moral compass, I made decisions. Some were difficult, some of them I regret, but I always did it for the greater good. I did my best to save the universe from ones that would do us harm. I didn't do it for fame, or for glory, or for discounts at the Citadel, I did it for my friends, because in the end, it's the people you love that matter most.

...goddammit. This actually brought me to tears right now. Maybe it's just because I'm tired, exams for Semester 1 of my finals are almost over, and I'm stoked on tea, but remembering Keith David and Jennifer Hale's exchange, watching that sunrise - well, let's say I'll be replaying the series from the beginning. I probably won't change any of my choices, either... OK, I'm no longer crying. Back to revision... for now.
@fallinginthed33p9 жыл бұрын
I didn't quite feel the same way with a MaleShep ending but Hale and David nailed that scene. The extended scene with cut dialogue is even more poignant although it gets some facts wrong. I remember rushing through half of ME1 in a nighttime caffeine-fueled marathon session until dawn. I'd romped all over the galaxy over the past few hours and now I had saved it, just as the sun came up and lit the world. Helluva feeling... I played the other two games at a more leisurely pace but I'll never forget that first ME experience.
