You R Done I'm just throwing forth my opinion, no one needs to agree with me. But there is strong lore in Halo, of that there is no doubt. The earlier books (before Halo 4) that is, and the original trilogy. Don't get me wrong, Mass Effect is great too, but sometimes it tried too hard to make me feel a certain way, and if I didn't, it cheapened the experience. I might be a little biased though, mostly because I liked KOTOR better.
@yourdone888510 жыл бұрын
Good point, it's just I found that unless you were truly invested into the lore of halo, it doesn't show its true epic ness. And halos story is awesome. But mass effect ( 2 is the most awesome ) is epic no matter how much you pay attention. But halo is awesome. Mass effect more so 😜

My dad died from COVID-19 at 75 years old on February 21 after 20 days intubated. I had played a lot of Mass Effect 3 on that time, so I searched for this song after watching Anderson's death. At morning on February 21, the doctors called my family to go to the hospital because it would probably be his last hours. After that call, i put on Anderson's death video just to soothe myself about that sad moment, hearing his "I'm proud of you", and this beautiful song. A few minutes later the doctors called again to say he had passed away. After we arrived at the hospital (something like two hours later because of it was in another town), we went to the ICU to see his body. As I caressed his forehead, this song came to my head. That entire morning i had "I'm Proud Of You" playing inside my head. Because of that, this song means literally life to me. Just like Anderson, it was years for my dad to finally sit down. Even on his age, he was on medical duty 90 hours a week, besides his psychiatric office. You were a very good doctor, professor and musician, dad. I will love you forever.

Nothing beats the first time playing this series. The very first, no game guides, no advice from friends, playthrough where everything's new with us having no idea what will happen as we are left to make our own uninfluenced decisions. There was no such thing as a "bad" ending then. It had been more than just about the game no matter how it had ended. Cheers, Bioware. As they said, it's been one heck of a ride.

callofdutyfan1232 warhammer 40000 really gets one in the mood for dying pointlessly and that's when I wrote this. I wrote it as a piece of combat poetry written by an imperial guardsmen somewhere (probably about to die) but then I heard this music. so I altered it slightly to make it "fit" the story told here. That said something like this is pretty timeless so I'd feel rather remiss taking any real credit for it.

Thomas Duponti Quite the epic one from Ben Counter - We do not know what our chances of survival are, so we fight as if they were zero. We do not know what we are facing, so we fight as if it was the dark gods themselves. No one will remember us now and we may never be buried beneath Titan, so we will build our own memorial here. The Chapter might lose us and the Imperium might never know we existed, but the Enemy - the Enemy will know. The Enemy will remember. We will hurt it so badly that it will never forget us until the stars burn out. We cannot lose. We have already won.

The war is over. The Reapers have been defeated. Against all odds, and in the face of the greatest threat this galaxy has ever known, we survived. We suffered many losses. The relays are severely damaged, but we won. This victory belongs to each of us... every man, woman, and child. Every civilization, on every world. Now, as we take our first steps toward restoring what we lost, we must remember what it took to win. This wasn't a victory by a single fleet, a single army, or even a single species. If this war has taught us anything, it is that we are at our strongest when we work together. And if we can put down our grievances long enough to stop something as powerful as the Reapers, imagine what we can achieve now that they are defeated. It will take time, but we can rebuild everything that was destroyed. Our homes, our worlds, our fleets and defenses. All of this - and more. Together, we can build a future greater than any one of us could imagine. A future paid for by the sacrifices of those who fought and died alongside us. A future that many will never see. And while we still have many challenges ahead of us... We can face them together. And we will honor those who died to give us that future. We knew this war would test us. We knew the chances of victory were slim at best. But we are victorious. The Reapers are defeated. We deployed every strategy, fought every battle, sent every soldier and hero to the brink. We held nothing back. Now, it's up to the survivors to rebuild, to start again. I only hope the lessons learned in this war don't die along with those of us who fought to win it. -Adm. Hackett

From the start, you fought for those who abandoned humanity at every turn. Gave your mind to the warrior inside, bared the ultimate burden of being counted on to succeed in such a feet. Despite all you have been through, the death you've seen, the grief you've suffered from fallen friends and taken lovers. No matter the cost, you put every soul first. You may not be proud of some of the choices you made, but if there's an afterlife, I'm sure those who've fallen due to those choices are smiling with teary eyes and understanding. Despite overwhelming guilt, you made their deaths mean something and even if you've betrayed some to get here... Well, I know you would've avoided that, if there was another way. Shepard, those people loved you, they followed you to the death because they believed. they believed their death would give you reason to carry on, to fight for their memory, to honour them. They were the most loyal, and their loyalty was not the kind you command, but the kind you share. You're a damn hero shepard, I'm sure they all agree. You never gave up, Shepard. despite it all, you made us believe. You did good son, you did good and for it all... I'm proud of you, we all are. Keelah se'lai

Does anyone else have a lifelong connection the Mass Effect series? Mass Effect taught me that humanity is just another semi-intelligent species in this galaxy, and that there are likely dozens of other intelligent species in just this galaxy alone. I would usually never get video game tattoos, but Mass Effect and Halo are definitely exceptions.

Mass effect, will always have a special place in my heart. I spent overall 136 hours completing the series, backstorys and dlc included. I think what made this such a sad death, was because its the end. Yes, the mass effect series will live on, but. The shepherd series, with all its characters was what i loved about Mass effect. To see them all vanish. Is. Heart wrenching. Let the mass effect series continue, but Rest in peace the original trilogy. You are what mad Mass effect.

sebool112 I honestly didn't mind the sad ending (not the space magic BS), but the part with Shepard dying, the geth, and all other A.I. being destroyed. They all made the ultimate sacrifice to rid the galaxy of the Reapers. How does the saying go? If you can't sacrifice anything, you'll never change anything either.
@ChadVulpes10 жыл бұрын
Rage Pie I didn't mind if they've done something more intelligent than that stupid space brat whose logic is "superior to everyone else's and there's no time to explain it completely." Maybe I'd be pissed off if I had to sacrifice geth and others, still, but at least I wouldn't have to listen to space brat's bullshit. By the way what the fuck was Biowere thinking adding him in the last seconds of the game? He existence pointless and everyone would be better off without him. I bet it's because EA told them to make the game faster.
@FROMdaHOOD1510 жыл бұрын
sebool112 That was probably one of many factors that contributed to the poor ending among other things. They shouldn't have made it so that there were vastly different endings. Just one well written this is how the story ends ending. Then from there the outcome was based on you EMS score. If you managed to gain enough fire power from across the galaxy; sword fleet beat the reapers against all the odds mass driver to mass driver, or if you didn't sword fleet lost and the game ended with this cycle failing, but leaving behind the information, like where you interrupt space kiddo, and plant a bullet through it's face. If they just focused it down to one basic ending, it would have been a lot better written.

I really wish they would remaster the Trilogy for Xbox1/PS4, I would gladly play full price to be able to play them with improved graphics. Without a doubt, these are the best games I have ever played. I just hope MEA lives up to the high standards set by the original trilogy.

Of all the games I've played, the ME trilogy was a masterpiece. I finished it barely a month ago and I have never enjoyed something as much as I did with the games. For me, all the deaths through the way broke me, but those words 'I'm proud of you child' utterly destroyed me. I had to pause the game as I cried and I finished the game crying. I was so furious about the endings, but even with it, I still have to say ME3 was my favorite game of all. It was the one that made me feel the most, from fear, to anger, to frustration, to happiness, laughter, love. I hope in the future we can get another game (I don't count Andromeda in this) of this trilogy. Something to let us know what happened, how is everyone doing and what ending is the true canon one.

My shepard was earthborn, lost his parents and joined the navy. The closest figure he had as a father was Admiral Anderson. He was his Mentor, his Teacher, his Friend and his Father as well. I like to imagine a happy ending, I enjoy them because after a hell of an adventure where everything seemed lost. There's still hope for the future, like EVA said. Even in the darkest of places, there is still a flicker of hope, there's still a way out. I like to imagine Shepard and Liara (My LI) living peacefully after the war. No reapers, no war. Blue little children and a human baby child, adopted after the war. His name, David. And I imagine shepard, in a Navy cemetery, looking at Anderson's grave. Alone, in the middle of a green field with scattered families visiting the fallen. Liara standing not too far with the children. The words of Anderson still rang on his head. "You did good son, you did good. I'm...proud of you" And not realizing it, he said out loud. While placing a rose next to his grave "Thank you sir" Tears covering his eyes.

While this was a nice moment, it's sad to think about what Mass Effect 3 could have been if it weren't rushed as badly as it was. Instead of a climatic and standard raising ending, we were given a quickly put together sequel that isn't suitable as a finale to one of the greatest sci-fi trilogies (game or otherwise) of all time. The endings they patched in were nicer than the god-awful original three choices, but I still can't say I can forgive EA for putting the pressure on Bioware to dumb down the game and get it out faster. Oh well.
@bartjoboy11 жыл бұрын
I agree, one thing on the new ending though.. A picture montage? That's the ending you give your 5 year old fans, Bioware? A picture montage! Well f*ck them too then. We just gave them between $180 and $300 of our hard-earned money over the last 5 years on their series and they thank us with a crappy, second grade, middle-school grade slideshow ending, that is supposed to make up for the already horrible ending to begin with? That's weak, and a huge slap in the face for the fans of the series. Furthermore, the picture montage doesn't even tell us anything new. All it does is tell the things we already knew over the course of Mass Effect 3 that we did, in the form of a picture for each accomplishment. And it still ignores all the major plot holes while it somehow manages to create even more! I had such high hopes and really I hate to say this.. but one of the best RPG series in the history of gaming really goes down as the most anti-climactic ever created. :(

I just finished the trilogy 3 days ago now for the very first time. I was able to dodge most spoilers and have a true run through with the same character on all 3 games. I now understand why people love these games. I’ve never had this big of a connection to characters and a story. Sure, there are plenty of games with people and stories I care about but this hit way different. The game didn’t force me to like people, it let me figure it out myself. I won’t forget people like Joker, Anderson and Garrus, or Tali especially. I’d also like to give a shout-out to Anderson. Guy literally gave it his all and then some. I’ve seen others say this, but my Shepard lost his family so Anderson was the perfect father figure. I’m very happy to finally be able to understand Mass Effect and “join the club” as I said on another comment. What a series man.
