Thane is so right about Kai Leng needing to be embarrassed. He either misses the councilor by a terminally ill Drell or a Salaran Captain, and also instead of actually assassinating the councilor he decides to just jump down infront of him/her.

For me its Legion and Mordin. I'm trying to get a copy of mass effect 3 I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye. I don't care that they'll be there next playthrough, ready for me to meet again. Legion sacrificed himself, to me that makes him a person. And he sacrificed himself so that the Geth would have personhood, and freedom. If you pick the destroy ending, you have to nullify that because killing the reapers, the best ending, would kill Legion, Edi and all the Geth. But matters of the Geth and Edi are both some of the most disturbing to most people because it makes you question what constitutes a "person" in society. To me, at the very end, the Geth collectively died as people, finally at peace with and recognized as people by their creators. Not only that, but they forgave the quarians who tried to kill them for 300 years and started building things for them, including the medical infrastructure needed to restore their damaged immune systems. that to me is the definition of forgiveness. the Geth must have the patience of a saint, and the mercy of one too, dropping war with their creators so suddenly. And all it took was a collective act of faith and a dedicated mediator who wouldn't give up.

Take in consideration that A: Thane had a crippling TERMINAL disease that degenerated his physical condition. That's like a man in a wheel chair. B: he had no genetic or mechanical or bionic modifications, nor a combat exoskeleton, nor fancy-pants N7 goverment issue training. C: His oponent was at top shape, with all the above mentioned, and even then thane gave him a run for his money. Thane, we knew you were a badass, but right now? You're a god.

within a certain radius Kai Lan has the advantage, as long as he can strike within the time it takes Thane to line up a shot. If Thane is far enough away Kai Lan can't close in time to kill him. but in the close quarters of an office building that's impossible.

It surprises me Drell don't wear oxygen masks if Kepral's Syndrome is such a risk. Like whenever they leave the planet wear a filter that gets rid of moisture as they breathe.

It's not that simple for a few reasons. a) Rakhana, the Drell homeworld, is now a desolate desert, devoid of the resources capable of sustaining life. The Hanar were only able to rescue about 650,000 of them. They're far and away the smallest species in the galaxy. Thus, most medical companies wouldn't see the point in making tech like that b) Rakhana's air is so devoid of moisture, few, if any, settled worlds exist where they wouldn't need to wear them permanently, and as part of the agreement made for saving them, many drell work as indentured servants, many, like Thane, were trained to be assassins, and wearing any kind of tech as an assassin, especially to offset a medical condition, is more likely than not, going to get you caught and killed. and c) Kepral's Syndrome stems and grows just from contraction, once you have it, there's no getting rid of it, many Drell actually caught the condition on the evacuation craft, because it was designed for Hanar, and it was these cases which actually uncovered the condition to begin with.

Mordin died curing a genophage, Legion died stopping a 300-year long war and saving his people, and Thane died saving the Council of the Citadel and the Citadel. (in mine at least) How do these, in any way, make them background characters?

Kai Leng had stealth, an advanced assin suit and a sword. Thane had his skills, biotics and a terminal illness. Regardlees of the outcome, Thane is proven here to be the better.

Before this scene, Thane kept saying how his health is deteriorating: He had difficulty running and keeping up on exercise. When i saw this scene, it was painful seeing him fight and pushing himself. He'd win over Leng if he was in full health hands down. And if he didn't, I'll make sure Leng pays in my game...

Not going to lie here but the Mass Effect trilogy is the best imersive game I've ever played. Every character is unique and the creaters gave them great depth and back stories. Every character is special and every death is heartfelt. The compelling story, dynamic characters, brilliant fighting mechanics and with the choice based play system so your decisions reflect on how the game progresses is amazing. I went with the MaleShep and the Tali love story. Loved every minute of this amazing saga.

This death always bothered me for the wrong reasons. Why is Shepard and company just standing by? Why did Thane charge an assassin wielding a sword with a gun? Why does everyone miss every shot? (hopefully because his shields are actually just really strong and not actual misses) Legion and Mordin were written well but this death just tells me they needed to write off some characters that overstayed their welcome in the series

+Jonathan Ljungdahl If Thane survived the Suicide Mission and you talked to him in Huerta Memorial Hospital before the Cerberus raid, he's going to save the salarian councilor. If Thane died in ME2 or you didn't talk to him, Kai Leng is still blocked by Kirrahe, if he survives in ME1. If Kirrahe is dead, too, then you're screwed, salarian councilor dies and you can shoot Ashley.
