I'm not a big fan of his writing... During the prologue, before the Kett even shoot anyone and aren't even considered as an enemy, he's already against them and assumes their dangerous for having weapons. BUT, when we meet the Angara, who we also meet with weapons pointed at us, he's all "we need to bring everyone together, make andromeda peaceful!" and acts like he's some cultural bridge between the Milky Way and Andromeda. I call him the Space Racist.
