FYI, you can hear this version of the song in Mass Effect 3. It plays during the squad select screen. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now and it sounds identical to this. Wonder if the composer got his idea from this video. Good job on posting this, it sounds surreal!

Because ME3 really used a slowed down version of Uncharted Worlds in squad selection. This kind of thing was all over the game. In fact, if you pay attention, you can hear a slowed down version of Vigil in the war room. Just goes to further prove how much of a rush job Mass Effect 3 was.

At least Mass Effect 3 was still a good game, at least in my opinion. I finished back in January and still play multiplayer because of the combat. I also don't mind that they reused the old music I like that. Especially Uncharted Worlds for the squad selection, it felt relaxing and like it fit the situation of the game.

@@KopperNeoman I would still agree that it's a sign of rush. If there was time the composers would usually do different versions of familiar melodies to achieve something very similar. This is smart and saves time. Similar to halo 1 reusing the map designs, are these levels rushed? No, but it's obvious they didn't have time to build new levels and worked smartly with what they had.

yes, this was re-used as the character-creation theme for me3. Same with Vigil- used in Normandy and the Noveria theme for the citadel embassies. And thanks for the HQ update. It just whisks you away into a cosmic adventure.

Set it to 0.5 (0.25 for best effect) speed and its essentially the base for the ambient music used in the citadel ambience in ME3...although this is a lot less cleaned up and edited for quality at that speed....personally one of my favorite unreleased pieces of music form the trilogy.

That's not a coincidence :) much of Mass Effect 3's soundscape borrows either partially or completely from earlier games. For instance, there's also a condensed version of the Vigil soundtrack playing in the War Room/main menu :) it's really nice when you think of all the thought they put into the music.

For me part of the experience is choosing what speed to use. I want to slow it down enough so the song picks up an additional identity, but it can't get so slow that the original song is lost. While listening to this one, 600% felt right. The default speed in PaulStretch is 800%, but I'm creating each song individually so I feel the speed is just as important as the song itself.
