could you make a video of yourself solving a puzzle that you've never done before? Im so curious as to the process it would take to solve something like the egg puzzle!

I can try to make that happen. I'm just not sure how interesting it would be! We could experiment, though.

I've got the hoberman brain twist and i have to say that thing is hard as hell. i soled it to completion, except for one piece which needed to go all the way to the other side of the puzzle. luckily for me, it's very easy to take apart
@kirbythecreampuff7 жыл бұрын
i have the brain twist, but several years ago a friend of mine broke one of the pieces while trying to force the puzzle to invert. it still works but i have to kind of hold the broken piece in place or else it'll fall out. so yeah, you have to be patient with that one. It's quite fun though, and satisfying to move.

@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
They're great!
@TheAguydude7 жыл бұрын
Hanayama is my favorite mass market puzzle manufacturer. They're high quality, creative, elegant, durable, and cheap. It's easy, but my favorite Hanayama puzzle is LOOP. It's one of their level 1 puzzles, making it a nice puzzle to hand to visiting non-puzzlers. The only Hanayama puzzle I've regretted buying is coaster. It's immediately obvious how the puzzle works, but I just dont' think it's fun to solve.

Why not use referal links? I don't think anyone would mind you getting some small percentage of their purchase.
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
The main reason I founded this channel was to get more people interested in puzzles. While referral links aren't opposed to that goal, I added a referral link before (on the "Wit's End" video) and didn't like the way I felt about it afterwards. I haven't quite figured out why that is yet.

Hey FLEB awesome videos. You said your a puzzle designer, is there by any chance you could show us some of the puzzles you have designed or maybe tell us the types of puzzles you design. Thanks. Keep up the awesome videos!
@JoshBeatty67 жыл бұрын
To say that a lot of twisty puzzles solve a lot like the Rubik's cube is a bit of an overstatement. I can name many many that have the same goal as the Rubik's cube, to solve all the faces, but turn very differently and have a unique solving strategy!
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! My focus was mainly on puzzles available at big online shops, like Amazon. If you go to Mefferts or some other more specialized shop, you will of course find many that are very different. I also wanted to highlight a jumbling puzzle!

The last one made me said HOLY @#$*!!! That really caught me off guard lol. Seeing your collections, I decided to try to work with rubik's variants. But I think I need to understand how original rubik's cube work first (how they twist, change their position, etc) so I bought the set of 2*2*2 up to 5*5*5. So far I managed to solve some of them from guides in many web. But my question is, is it required to understand by yourself how to solve them in order to be able to solve their variants like the one in your video?

It's not called jumbling in the cubing community it's called shapeshifting as the shape of the cube actually changes.
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
Shapeshifting and jumbling are different properties of twisty puzzles. You can easily have a puzzle which shapeshifts but doesn't jumble, such as a 3x3x5. Jumbling has to do with partial moves blocking normal moves on the puzzle. There's a mathematical definition that has to do with bandaging, if you're interested.

@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
How do you define "break the bank"?
@annika99537 жыл бұрын
FLEB i think they mean spend an excessive amount of money or 'cheap' puzzles
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
Right, but I guess my question is where that is. I don't think that very many people have thought about how much they would be willing to pay for a puzzle. Is $50 "breaking the bank"? Is $20 "breaking the bank"? It's not clear to me what the actual dollar amount is.

That is an extremely strange idea! It sort of feels like a zen koan: To make a puzzle video, you must first remove all puzzles from your video. I'll think about it!
