As someone who has recently gone through something similar regarding motorcycle laws in my state, it's hard to be supported. They had countless hearings, and numerous public councils regarding the proposed laws. Overwhelming support to counter the law. Only the City Police, and a Trucker's Union supported the countering the law. They sided with the latter. They don't listen to people. They listen to money.

@@Montyfiable Recently the state and major cities have been investigating making lane-splitting and lane filtering at red lights legal for two-wheeled vehicles. It has overwhelming support from city engineers, riders, biker groups, and even a couple big brand companies. The cop union and a trucker union countered it. Only two groups fought against it, and they won. Despite all the evidence supporting that filtering actually decreases traffic congestion, dramatically reduces the likelihood of a biker getting rear ended at traffic lights (One of the most common types of motorcycle accidents), and is overall saver for the rider, the council sided with the trucker union because they claimed truckers wouldn't be able to see a filtering biker (Not remotely reasonable, considering when a bike filters, they're only actively filtering for 1-3 seconds between vehicles. Nobody is stupid enough to just linger next to a semi truck. You don't even do that in a car.) Cops claimed there was no way for them to enforce it, and so the council was like "ok good points meeting over". (This Trucker Union is the largest bankroller of the city of financial campaigns, and cops have a financial incentive to keep the number of highway patrols to minimum as many patrol shops get damaged more on highways than anywhere else.)

I saw that backhoe on Mass Ave too! Then started digging into commercial/construction registration, and it kind of dead-ended as I couldn't find enough information. It should have a special use plate for driving on the road to/from a job site, but I'm not sure why that one was allowed full plates.

The same one? There are plenty of these around with a plate. I was in Dorchester near Morrissey Blvd. I used to have a commercial plate on my regular car and it was great for parking in Boston. It cost more per year and you're supposed to some signage for your "business" but that's it. Maybe it is worth pursuing for the trucks. I saw a Kubota UTV thing that certainly is not designed to be an on road vehicle floating around on commercial plates on my most recent video on this topic. If they can title and register non road vehicles they can title and register our import stuff. If it means getting a commercial plate then it is what it is.

(I had to wait for the lunch brake to be over though lol) gonna try to register it tomorrow… I’ll let you know how it goes, I’m hoping because it says “Station Wagon” on the paperwork it should go through

@@AnythingWheeled Hey, looks like I can make it to the hearing, do you know the address and time this is taking place? I went to the RMV and they denied my Fargo :( they told me the manufacturer is not registered with the NHTSA and that my vin doesn't match my model year… I thought we were exempt from that? Edit: more specifically, I thought we were exempt from the NHTSA

i don't understand the love for kei cars but - i would say, when will the state make inspections more intense, and remove the 15yr old emissions cut off.

They can be cheap fun. Makes going wild affordable 😆. There are non keis at risk here too because of how they're banning these. Especially in the beginning stages when they outright stopped all short vin Japanese imports.
