Dear sir, I am Fischer fan but have a lot of respect for other players including thr great Tigran Petrosian who was considered as the hardest strategic defensive player of the world. It was said that it is easier to become world champion than to win a game with Petrosian, who emerged with his unique style of defensive attack. The game illustrated herein is essence of his dictum. Salutations to his originality. Defeating Bobby Fischer was news making event and when Fischer resined, there was a thunderous applause for this great player who was truely iron Tigran. You also nicely analysed every stage of game with momentary pause Guess the move. This memorable game and your soft tongued analytical commentry goes hand in hand. A beautiful session indeed. Looking forward for such sessions. Thanks.

@Oissev Onos Petrosian was so artistic. He just sac both his rooks to control the diagonals. And the queen sac at the end was very impressive. Simple and brilliant. Petrosian's ideas is not common. His style of play was unique.

the intro music sounds like im about to hear the school news with a breaking report that the cafeteria ran out of chocolate milk. Mato, you're the best. What would my chess game be without you constantly feeding my interest.

No fireworks with the French defense. Just keep it close and sprint in the endgame.

Petrossian has prepared his game from A....to Z .Propbably Fischer had underestimated the " Passive -French defense" of the Tiger.

I think this one needed deep analysis, for example at the end why didn't Fischer exchange rooks with 43.Rxb7? Thank you regardless Mato, had a few unexpected moves.

Just rewatched the end. Black king maches a pawn down the board and White can't stop both the e and the a pawn. Thanks Mato!

Why not after the early scenario at 1:10 - 7.fxg7 Rg8, 8.Qh5! launching an attack on the back row kingside? After 8....Rxg7 9.Qh8#, winning the rook. And after some other move 8....Qf6 then 9.Qh7 winning the rook and chasing the black king out of the back rank.

@@WAPBodie According to chessmetrics , Petro was already in 1961 world strongest player. And in 1962 , and in 1963 .Bobby was never number 1 in world in 1961-63. So it is no wonder why Petro beated Bobby in Curacao. Keres commented Curacao -tournament : "I do not know whether Bobby agrees with me or not ; but his result (4th place) reflects his playing strength in Curacao" . I agree with Keres. Bobby was not yet best in world in 1962. Petrosian deserved his victory over Bobby and the tournament overall. Rudi Rafael
