What an underrated film with a real message .
@racheljessie55362 жыл бұрын
Yeah there was a message! But we didn't see it! The message was... "Yo, this is what we about to do to y'all and we're gonna profit greatly from it! Hope you ready" They place the ideas when we are young. They get reactions from the initial idea. Then they implement! They modify our social structures, push the narratives, bring in actors, disease, they change weather accordingly even! You and I and every person you've ever known have always been slaves! We just couldn't see the chains! We are all stuck. Nothing is real. I mean it's really happening to us, but it's all fabricated! Haven't you heard, nothing new under the son. And nothing happens by accident!

John Singleton was a guest on the Tom Leykis Show as this film was being released. He said Columbus University is a microcosm of America. Callers said that nothing like this happens on any campus (in 1995) . John told them he is just showing the direction its going and will go if society cannot change.

@pauly2605 жыл бұрын
The callers were right. John didn’t want to face what was really holding down black America; poverty, systemic racism & environmental influence. Instead he shot a movie in an imaginary college where cartoonish skinheads & outrageously racist students kept the black man down. I’ve been to no college slightly resembling Columbus. Probably because John was too busy living in a good neighborhood collecting millions in film profits to make a movie more in touch with reality. I swear, this film was the black version of “Birth Of A Nation”.

@tyliekinc.3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes! Tupac was supposed to be in the movie that so called rape case was bunch of BS! Could you imagine Tupac, Ice Cube, Michael Rappaport, Laurence Fishburne, Andrew B. (the guy who would play leatherface in the TCM remake & prequel), Regina King, Busta Rhymes, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Connelly, Kristy Swanson in this movie it would of been more epic
@racheljessie55362 жыл бұрын
Y'all really think Singleton just thought this shit up? How do you get could see the future exactly? You're seeing this backward, by design of course but backward nonetheless. Movie are introducing ideas intro the minds of the young and over time throughout the lives of those same young people are influenced in certain ways and it's all done to cause chaos and confusion! Take a look pac. I loved pac. Love love love pac. But with lots of research I realize he was a fraud! He played it well cause he was an amazing poet and was also trained in acting and drama! Now don't hate. Like I said, research! Tupac was a gay man n truth be told gangsta rap and what is now just called hip hop is a majority gay industry. That explains why "bi*ches ain't shit but h"es and tricks" was the basic theme of gangsta rap. Pac and big were put in place simply to influence! To change and drive the paths of the social minds of this country! And look how well it worked! How many lives lost over that dumb ass east west beef? How many men dead or in prison to this day over east west shit? And pac isn't dead! He just stepped away! We have been played all along! Because those up top make more money and are entertained by drama and chaos! It's sad really! But you have to know that war, death, chaos, fear.... All of those things are very lucrative industries. Every part of our lives have been manufacturered! We are all experiment!

8-4-20 I first saw this movie as a little boy, and then I saw it as a grown man. After seeing it with adult eyes, the only character that I liked in the movie (and the most realistic about how the world really functions), is the Laurence Fishburne character. Every other character was pushing some form of the neo-marxist agenda, or the master race bs. The afrocentric group and the skinhead group, were both reflections of each other. Both groups were made up of racists, and were poisoning their members with hate propaganda-- through the "victimization" mentality.
