That's so nice, Maerque! And I was gone because of a move back to the south, Janis :) I may have let my hair grow too long as well... and I may let it keep growing because I like how it looks :D

Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge. I can hear you sometimes in during my massages, a gentle reminder to slow down, connect with my client. A lot of clients I work on (in Chicago area) have never experienced MFR before, I just learned about it in school this year! People love it and it has such an amazing effect on people and does allow me to more easily connect with the body.

I do the pull on the feet and usually lift the legs though, I will work smarter not harder and try it how you showed in this video, also excited to try the ankle and low back pull, haven't tried that yet (usually place one hand on ankle and one hand near top of hamstring bottom of glute area).

Hi Ian! So how long is your average massage? On another video of yours I stated that the school that I attend is very focused on 50 minute hour for a full body massage as that is how a lot of the salons operate here. I am not in the slightest interested in working at a salon and I have already told the administrators that I refuse to do a full body massage in 50 minutes as there is no therapeutic value going on in 50 minutes. When I do a massage is is generally at least 90 minutes and it has taken me quite a while to learn how to go slow and to let my imagine feel the curves of the body. Your videos rock! Also with these techniques you are performing them on each part of the body section that you complete? Or at the end of the total body massage? Thanks again!

hi Ian. first of all thanks for all the videos I learned a lot from you. I have a question, rather then stretching the back fascia isnt it more convenient to stretch the front fascia?Considerig the postures most of us have during the day.
@MassageSloth6 жыл бұрын
Hi Michal! I don't worry too much about enforcing balance; I don't think I can cause a problem by tractioning the posterior fascia without an equal or greater time up front, in other words. Rather than focus on how I can balance the body, my strategy is to give lots of stimuli and let their nervous system determine how and where to make the change. That said, working with the pecs or abs is great, and I encourage working with the anterior torso!

Thanks for the answer. I like your point of view.

Good stuff! I like to start that occipital traction from as close to the thoracolumbar junction as I can get on the client. Lightly hooking the fascia and landing in that craineo cradle. Great move if you’ve got freakishly long, orangutan arms like me.

Let me know if you be interested in teaching class in the beautiful mountains of NC. I would love to help set that up for you. Brasstown NC has the John C. Campbell folkchool resort. I have a friend that teaches yoga and Massage at one the buildings. Beautiful area if you would like a small vaca! I am a huge fan and truly believe in this work as a MT. So good to see your face again and have a fresh video for us 😍

T W deep pressure help get rid of ticklish.
@MassageSloth6 жыл бұрын
I love working with ticklish clients (and anyone who considers massage difficult to receive) because it's always an interesting challenge. I have a lot of success with ticklish clients because I find that I can usually go slowly enough, and apply contact confidently enough, to make progress. This is a great idea for a video, I'll put it on the top of my list!
