Of course the Gene Clark record worked out. That guy is one of the greats. Original member of the Byrds, excellent songwriter, constantly searching for new sounds. This is a very cool session! I love when hip hop samples from unexpected places.

The album is full of solid mid 70s country rock + folk stuff if you're into that kind of thing. Gene Clark was an outstanding songwriter. I love what these guys do with the samples -- flipping them into something completely different than the originals. That's what it's all about!

I was in Bushwick, Brooklyn and we made friends at the bodega on Halsey and Broadway. Had to find the hiphop from Bushwick (cause all of NYC hiphop is from Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten (WU)). This series is awesome and it shows the genius behind the beat making and being able to take a riff and make it into your own.
