@anthonyrodriguez87885 ай бұрын
I could imagine the Asari could probably hide a few colonies and survive into the next cycle like the Protheans did, and they would probably do a better job at surviving considering they wouldn't need to rely on stasis pods due to their long life spans and the fact that they don't need very many Asari to have a stable breeding population. Heck they can even avoid the possibility of an Ardat Yakshi popping up and killing them all with radiation treatments to prevent the development of those genes or by using cloned DNA of other species for artificial inseminationm

@ThatCreeNative17 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I hope it'll live up to the trilogy. Also, we are meeting new races and species, I hope they have a lot of history. Crossing my fingers that they return to the Milky Way sometime near the end of the series. Thinking they might have another trilogy planned for Andromeda. And to keep the series going, I'd love one more trilogy where we combine Andromeda and Milky Way stories together in some type of war between them, imagine something happening in Andromeda that seems like a threat to the new Milky Way without Reapers.
@darthclone77 жыл бұрын
That got me thinking.. in the end of Andromeda 2nd entry.. Andromeda is being destroyed and they have to send a team to milky way to warn them of a bigger threat a bigger danger than the reapers

+倪传历 I had high hopes too but was left very disappointed. In terms of depth, the original trilogy is the Mariana Trench, and Andromeda is a small pond. I really hope if there is another Mass Effect, BioWare get their original crew back together to write it and it is set as a prequel during the time of the Protheans, maybe we could meet a frozen Inusannon from the previous cycle, like we did with Javik in this one.

Couldn't they just clone Javik? Then through gene therapy, try to extract different traits and alter the clones to make them more diverse. They might be able to extract some DNA from the stasis pods on Ilos or Eden Prime too? It just seems kind of sad that Javik has to be the last one. If they did clone him while he was alive, he could teach them the ways of the ancient Protheans too. Not sure if they'd have the tech to clone a female Prothean from that bit of DNA but if so they could jumpstart their race possibly?
@SwobyJ7 жыл бұрын
I think this is left an open question. Sure, theoretically, Bioware (despite D/C/S imo) has the room to show a future Milky Way with a Neo Prothian people, but I think they just wanted to end ME3 with the focus on the 'last of the (Old?) Prothians. No matter what comes next, Javik likely wouldn't consider them true Prothians anyway (as it is as much a political term as a biological one).
@Logan-yp9zc7 жыл бұрын
Malcolm Swoboda I just think that it's irresponsible of the Milky Way races to not try and resurrect the Protheans. They aren't extinct, they're endangered (Javik is alive after all). They could take Javik's X/Y chromosomes (I assume since they have male/females they have those) and then create a female version of Javik (Similar to what Henry Lawson did with Miranda & Oriana). If that isn't an option then they could clone the remains of dead female Protheans (Like Godess Athame). They could get further DNA from the stasis pods on Ilos and Eden Prime to add genetic diversity to the new protheans too. If the Collectors have any salvageable traits then those could be helpful too. If some Javik clones are needed to jump start the race that could be an option. Finally since the Protheans have the sensory ability at birth, then the new Protheans could just touch Javik, the memory shard, or a working beacon (On Mars or Kahje etc) and gain the knowledge, language, and culture of the Protheans. The Salarians revived a race of Kakliosaur from just a fossil. So I think technologically all of this is possible in the ME universe.
@SwobyJ7 жыл бұрын
Logan C I wasn't against it. I was talking about the storytelling. The galaxy at that time was facing total extinction so it wasn't part of the convo. Protheans would require time to raise.
@Logan-yp9zc7 жыл бұрын
Malcolm Swoboda I didn't think that you were disagreeing. I was just speaking generally. You do have a point that repopulating the Protheans would probably take at least an Asari lifespan in the ME universe. If they ever did return to the Milky Way (Which I highly doubt) that could be an option.
@SwobyJ7 жыл бұрын
***** You mean the ones who made it to the Citadel? That was a few, and they awoke thousands of years ago.
@Michael-13377 жыл бұрын
The Mass relays were actually reaper technology and the protheans managed to reverse engineer a miniature version. The reapers really didn't need the mass relays but they were there to facilitate the advancement of civilization to the point that would trigger them to attack. Reapers could travel faster and longer than any ship but the relays did help drastically speed things up when it came time to purge all sentient species. Some reapers were left behind to quietly observe the developing species and report back to the reapers out in dark space on the edge of the galaxy. Sovereign was one such reaper that stayed behind and when he tried to activate the citadel (a giant mass relay) to call in the reapers in dark space it failed because the prothean science team managed to alter the Keepers that maintained the citadel to no longer respond the reapers signal.

I have a question, are biotic abilities different for each race? Protheans have green biotic abilities and Asari have abilities like Nova. I know Shepard can learn these as a gameplay mechanic, but lore wise are there specific abilities only a certain species can use?
@jasperzanovich25047 жыл бұрын
In general? No. But Asari are usually better since it's a natural ability for them. I imagine they get taught to use those abilities in school like we get PE. Also they get way more time to refine those skills. That's why their commandos are so deadly. Imagine what they could achieve if only they used less of that time whoring around.
@SwobyJ7 жыл бұрын
So far, the answer would be no. However, species would have various aptitudes and inclinations. And possibly, though the war kept research from focusing on it, a Prothean's biotics may have more of a bias towards tapping into a deeper (genetic? other?) nature of the target, down to its barely understood 'code'. But that wouldn't necessarily keep other species from learning it somehow. The Asari nova is more because the Asari are more advanced and higher in their skills than Humans, not because the Humans can never reach that point. But maybe the Prothian abilities may require a reengineering of Humanity or at least its parts that do biotics, in order to really work. All of it, however, is theoretically accessible. Hell, I think Shepard can use Dark Channel? That's close enough to headcanon that Shepard has been slightly altered enough by the Prothian Beacon that he can already have the mind enough to do those abilities, albeit maybe with more difficulty than Javik. All the 'green-ness' has shown is a visual cue that there is potential for biotics to be of different nature than we've expected in the trilogy.

@javeronh.39967 жыл бұрын
I know it would have been better to ask for the Reapers episode but I am curious about something. when the Reapers attack they all seem to look the same based on their class. based on ME2 it seems that sometimes they will choose a race to dissolve so they can make a reaper that looks like the donor species. so my question is why is it so rare to see a reaper that doesn't look like each other for the same class? the Reaper we face in the collector base is the only Reaper that doesn't look like every other Reaper in the same class. of course it could just simply be since it makes it easier and be explained we don't see every Reaper. it just bugs me a bit whenever I think about it
