Glad you didn't go to a smaller tank. The more oil you have, the cooler the oil will run.

Idea, if you can get some old fire hose, this works great to slip over hydraulic hoses to protect them from getting rubbed through. 👍 Use a little lube when sliding your hydraulic hose inside of a length of fire hose, it makes it easier going in 👍

Relocating the tank there would be convenient, the only worry is that the volume of oil can have enough head pressure to keep the pump fed since you eliminate some of the gravity advantage

Great idea JT! Like the way you are thinking would look ugly hanging of side of tractor. Are you going to clamp yours hose solid at pto hole so that when you turn it does not work back and forth on fittings on the tank don't loosen and leak? Think two pieces of angle iron would work as a clamp. Maybe wrap a piece of inner tube around hoses to help guard against damaging hoses at the clamp.

Great place for the oil tank but are you not afraid the pump gets cavitation issues when it has to suck the oil all from behind, 3 feet lower than before and suck it thru the oil filter. Especially when its cold. Maybe you could reconnect the oil filter in the return line. Love your channel JT! Keep on going!
@jtsbarnngrill6873
@jtsbarnngrill6873 Ай бұрын
I’m not worried about it at all. The tank is only 6-8” lower than the pump. The filter is at tank level, and this pump is identical to the pump that runs the steering, which pulls fluid from the transfer case that is easily 12-15” lower than that pump.

Based upon your previous videos, you've probably already thought about it but given you "threading the needle" with the hoses, will they rub on metal enough to eventually wear a hole?

Just in the center pivot area but I’ll be wrapping them old inner tube to keep them from wearing

Raise that hydraulic tank up so it’s just under the plate covering the back. Use the mounting system from the hood it’s designed to hold the tank. And don’t let it set on the angle iron or vibration will rub a hole in your tank 😩 oi like the new location for the tank👍

Right on! I’ll set it on some rubber mounts

Massey Kardashian is coming along amazingly! Just a question tho, could you reuse the original tank straps? Just relocate those as well?

Best place for the tank buddy but here's a little advice you need you some rudder to set the tank on so won't rub holes in it from vibration maybe cut you sidewall out of a old tire will work n before you put you're bands on it to strap it down use that old tube to go under your straps save from having holes in you're tank

Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely do that!

Great job! Will the tank need a guard on the bottom so the driveline doesn’t fling something through the sidewall?

That's a great place for that tank,might be a little more difficult to do your maintenance on your drive shalf,but you can come underneath to get to it,if you had a pto on it ,that placement wouldn't work out,but it's good to get it in there as you have no PTO,right? Great place for the tank although
@jtsbarnngrill6873
@jtsbarnngrill6873 Ай бұрын
Correct. The pto junk is under there on the pto machines. I can still access everything else pretty easily from the bottom so hopefully it’ll work out great!

You need to find a auction that's selling a somewhat old but usable drill press,I see them all the time down here in ga,,drilling holes in a vice in that gauge of steel can wear a guy out after 1 hole

I don't think I would add duals to that tractor ,those big wide single X2 if you add duals tires, you have just put a over spec load on those outer bearings , enormous amount of end bearing pressure on that outer bearing will cause failure and then it'll put metal particles thru out the whole tractors oil hydro system,,to the other bearings etc,,it's something to thing about for sure,,for me those big fat tires are more than enough end shalf pressure for those outer bearing specs,,what do you think,,? One has to think before acting esp on those older tractors ,,heck even the new ones
@jtsbarnngrill6873
@jtsbarnngrill6873 Ай бұрын
That one won’t get duals. Those 30.5 singles are plenty of footprint 😉
