Finally got the hoe back together and working! It's far from a new machine, but it beats a shovel.

I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed you didn't complete the rebuild process on camera. It is awesome to see these old girls come back to life.

Sorry! I did do bits and pieces of the rebuild, but for some reason I didn't document the whole process. I'll have to do it with the next machine i buy!

That machine is in really good shape mechanically, looks like the shifter is nice and tight, just got to go through the hydraulics so they arent bleeding down and you will have a solid backhoe

haha, yea, some of those cylinders are a little leaky, inside and out. For the time being i won't touch it, once i have the 530CK Case running, i might think about redoing some cylinders.

Im amazed the old girl is petrol!!!!!! I have a 1958 or thereabouts mf 203 diesel....been in the family about 30 years...was my dads toy and workhorse and I inherited the old girl when he died a few months ago....Every time I get on her I feel dad sitting up there with me

Mine won't go in forward or reverse the wheel moves a little bit and that's it do you know what that could be

Maybe fix those sloppy pins too, hows the other backhoe coming along?

I don't think the pins are all that sloppy. What makes the hoe so floppy when i swing is flex in all the framework of the boom, base, etc. Something this old i'm content to work with it's flaws. Who knows how great it was when it was new, anyway?

They said it take transmission fluid in the torque converter but I don't know where to put it at

take a look in the manual. this is a clutch machine, so i don't know exactly. no fluid in the TC will definitely prevent it from moving!

Yup, that project is long dead, unfortunately.

Id check the trans for water with the little bit of play around the shifter boots and if you fully dump the front bucket it will give you a better anchor when using the hoe. Nice work with the engine. You're about as bad as i am with the projects though. Keep buying more and the others are just sitting.

yea, trans oil is milky and needs to be replaced. couldn't fully dump the bucket since at the time of filming the loader was low on oil. Just played with it today again, filled up oil and it works much better!
