Epa is bullshit. It's supposed to be better for the environment but when you recirculate exhaust there the engine it has to work harder which makes even more exhaust.

Could be, but a person interested in a MF4600 probably isn't interested in a MF1700.

In consideration of price, my dealer asked me to consider a 4600 series as well as the 1758 I'm looking at.

Looking at it from that point of view, going from a relatively expense tractor and being able to get a tractor with nearly twice the hp and nearly a ton more weight for not that dissimilar of a price - it does make sense to consider the 4600.

awd3264 Problem is that the 4600 series doesn't offer hydrostatic transmissions of the 1700 series or CV transmissions of the 6400 series and so it wouldn't be as easy to manipulate for loader work. Moreover, for the commercial purposes I have in mind, the 4600 is starting to get a little big unless I landed several really big annual contracts.

EricTheOracle Wow you are listing 3 totally different classes of tractors. A premium compact, a utility, and a small frame high horsepower row crop tractor. As an aside the 6400 does not come with a CVT transmission. You must have meant the 7400.

Lol Massey Ferguson is garbage compared to kubota.....kubota makes one of the most reliable tractors on the market if not the most......check out the attitude adjusters videos on the 4600 series....worst tractor series ever
