Hi lance great to watch someone that can do all sorts 😀 my understanding is that if you own one these old girls then it would be almost a certainty that the pivot would be in need of some work. But it's beyond me to do unless you would like to see Mr bean meets the lathe!

Which one? The boring head? Just look for boring head on E Bay, this is a cheap Indian one I had for small jobs but due to lack of room I had to use it here.

Should have cut a groove around the outside so you can put the grease hole to the top where it can do some good.

The both bushes have the groove but if it doesnt wear it should be ok.

Never did like to hear that chatter when I was resurfacing metal. I've looked at the surface with a magnifying glass and I could see the little marks from the chatter. No reflection on you Lance at all, I was just making a statement while hearing the chatter.

Yes I try and not have it but with a boy doing a mans job with this episode it cant be helped at times. On the main pin a 1.5mm cut or bigger got rid of most of it. I didnt film it all as there wasnt time really.

He's trying to take too heavy cuts, its a boring head that appears to take 10mm-3/8ish tools in a light mill running it too slow, id restrain myself to 7/8 thou or .02 cuts and feed faster but hey hes the one listening the shrieking eh :-)

@@alan-sk7ky Yeah a tiny tool but in my little mill I couldnt fit the big one. Not to worry it got the job done but there is probably a bigger mill on the way soon.

@@alan-sk7ky I admire him anyway that he wants to do it. I would guarantee that it's up to snuff when he's finished. I've turned thousands of rotors in my day and the finished product is really what matters.👍
