You can tell the Psychedelic age was starting to come in

As a student back in 1975, I worked on a farm in North Berwick and I remember the local dealer being George Henderson at Haddington. The A1 from East Linton to Haddington was still a two lane road back then, not a dual carriageway. It was while I was there that the 500 series started to trickle through to replace the 100 series. The MF combine range from Kilmarnock was in steep decline even then with Class and Sperry-NewHolland in the ascendant.

Very interesting Huw, I remember these pre dual carriageway days of the A1!

Best combine MF ever made. They stretched the design for the 525 and 625 and then the problems started.

That's interesting, I was not aware of that.

If you needed to stop you needed to immediately shunt back because the straw coming out the roter will back up and wrap round it. Not many of these 415s and 515s about

At that speed, 2 things will happen, end up bunging crop up inside, some poor bugger has to scramble inside to un block, but just as bad, 30% of crop will be laid in field instead of in its tank.

Interesting Andy, I never knew that....and obviously, neither did they! 🤣

I would suggest that this film was made in 1965, as the 100 series tractors were first made in 1964 and MF 415 / 515 combines were made from 1965 until 1971.

Thanks for that valuable information Robert, I will update the description.

The film was made in 66 as the decals for the 410/510 changed in 66 after the first years production, I run a 1965/66 510 & the decals changed that year , for what it’s worth I run a complete set of 500 series still , a testament to the last good combines they made

@@massey892 I ran a 625 SuperII for a few year, fitted with a 14ft PowerFlow table. The table was a bit heavy for it on my fairly steep land. It went well enough but it was a pig to work on and with and to adjust and repair. It eventually caught fire.

I’d say 1965-1966 also because the tractors on this film have red centre rims and they stopped doing these in the fall of 1966
