Hi John - wow what a great series of videos! My MF 35 (1963) Perkins diesel died yesterday after running no problems for an hour previously - suspected a fuel supply issue (still turned over but did not fire) and my friend google pointed me to you. Turned off fuel tap and cleaned sight jar thing, turned on tap and only drips so suspect gunk at tank filter. So will work from there and replace fuel filter, bleed etc. Limited daylight hours after work are constraining my sleuthing time. Thanks again for clear and well paced videos! Mark from NZ

Thanks Mark. Glad the video was of some help to you. Hope you have an easy resolution of the problem and if it ends up being the fuel tank, try not to use a Cement Mixer! lol... Take care over there in New Zealand

Thanks John for quick reply - will let you know how I get on! Funny - I've been meeting today (online) with another Ozzie (Toowoomba - not Ozzie from Black Sabbath) trying to debug a computer program - much the same as debugging a MF35 fuel issue! ATB from NZ

I think you will find you have blown the tank filter off with the air line. When you get it fixed, I have found that the glass bowl will fill quite quickly if you loosen the glass bowl, so easier to displace the air. The tank filter seems quite a strange idea as it is so small and blocks so easily. I tried leaving mine off but because the fuel tap is flush with bottom of tank, it only takes the odd dead fly to block it up. My solution which has worked for several years now, was to get a new filter but to cut off the top off before fitting, so basically creating a small raised tube so only drawing fuel slightly higher in the tank. It’s a great old tractor to play with.

G Day John, By blowing you may have dislodged the plastic screen on the fuel tap. It might be worth just screwing the tap out to see if it is still there.

I have had a problem with blockage the gauze filter in the tank blocks with black jelly like flock it seems to be bacteria infection in BIODIESEL, I am now using an additive that clears it.
