NOTE 1: 3 Point Bleed Down Update: At the 5 day mark, The 3 point dropped from 25" to 24.5". NOTE 2: The 3 point lift information in this video flawed because I unknowingly was at max lift height and the tractor rear wheels sunk into the ground. I'll post another video, but I got 1161lbs at the lower lift arms on the QH05 and 1217lbs at the QH05 top hook on a later test. New Video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boDCXn6EerOGrtk NOTE 3: The manual notes to lower the 3 point prior to starting. The mower deck manual explains the reason for this as follows: "When starting the engine, make sure the implement is lowered to the ground and the lift control/ever is fully forward. This procedure reduces the load on the starter because the hitch is trying to raise when the engine is cranked." Might be one reason I see so many posts online about people needing new starters.

Great tests, Ed.

I actually turn mine down some. Tired of loader valve leaking and having to go into the shop for repairs. Mine is 1723eb 2023 year.

As always, Ed, a very informative and well presented video. That rear lift test does seem hinkey, but I can't say what would be affecting it. I have a 600 pound ballast box and a wood chipper that weights 550 pound (though I don't think that includes the 4½ gallons of hydro fluid) and my GC1725 lifts those with no problem at all.

I finally have a theory. I think my 3 point was at the max lift point and since I was in the woods on soft ground, the tractor may have even sunk in a tiny bit right as I approached the max. This is supported by some of the video that was edited out. I also misunderstood the J283 standard, so I gotta look at all of that 3 point stuff again and get a new brief video out on that topic.

@@Redneck_Ed When watching the video I wondered about the topping out aspect, but didn't say anything because surely if it occurred to a simpleton like me you would have considered it already. You might have to rig a test stand that gets the rear tires up higher (auto repair ramps?) to give the scale space to work.

First, love your videos. I have a GC1710 TLB with 800 hours and 5 years of reliable service. On your rear 3 point test, did you have enough ballast in the front loader? I’m betting you raised it without seeing it. If I just have the backhoe on the rear without the front loader, going a little fast and I hit a bump or slight incline I will pop a wheely. The backhoe weighs 1000 pounds and has a separate mount. I’m betting you took weight off the front wheels when you measured rear 3 point lift. Thank you so much for your videos and all the Massey interest. Good luck and God Bless, stay safe.

@carlrizzo6471 i either lifted the front end some or the rear wheels sunk into the ground some or if reached max lift height or it's a combination of all of those factors I'm going to attempt a retest today if all goes well. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for a follow-up video.
