Wow! Isn't it just too much?? I mean it's a lovely army but didn't you consider to start a new faction? How can you end up with nearly 200 Termagaunts? You need a whole house to store all those minis! xD

Haha thanks! I actually have 3 other fleshed out armies Ad Mech and GSC. Both sit around 5000pts. The only reason the Nids are this big is because of this channel. I want to be able to try out all sorts of things with the bugs to show all of the viewers and not have the same few lists over and over. I don't paint bugs that often anymore mainly because I feel the force is basically complete.

my current collection is 1040 points of built models, about 400 of unbuilt, and then a leviathan box to get through. Assembly is easy enough but painting is all new to me so I'm holding off on that until everything's built.

You will end up burning yourself out once you start painting since Tyranids are 1 Scheme without options like other armies have (eg space Marines). Building some, painting some, building some more or doing a conversion really help to keep you motivated over a longer time, otherwise you'll paint 20 Gaunts and a monster or 2 and not look forward to more painting right away, so breaking it up like that really does help. How do you store nids? I have a lot but I’m afraid that the citadel case I have will snap the spikey bits

I magnetize the bases and stick them on cookie sheets. I made a few custom cases to hold the cookie sheets (can buy them from the dollar store). There are other companies out there who make similar cases.

With a little bit of work, you can put a tervigon head on the new screamer killers and it looks awesome. You have to do some cutting and putty work, but it's very cool looking when you get it done.

Nice! :D It's a bit confusing when you talk about base sizes when it's perfectly fine to use the base they came with. You can even order warriors right now and get 40mm bases... :) For the old scheme, perhaps just glaze them with thinned contrast to change to darker colours of the new one.

Casual play the bases are fine however in Tournaments current base sizes are expected. That said leniency is generally given for things like Gaunts (for example) which can take longer to get based... And are less important game wise to be correctly based.

@@ashleyharris4114 But "current base sizes" is the problem when they're selling Warriors on both 40mm and 50mm bases. It's also very arbitrary from GW what base size they use for a model and is never reflected in the units cost. Tournaments are free to use what rules they want though... :)
