It's likely they haven't been able to seek help for their situation. If they informed local social security workers that their home doesn't have heat, they would provide them another place to live. Homelessnes is taken very seriously here. Your electricity bill, heating bill, waterbill etc will be paid if you can't pay them on your own. The father might not have realized how bad the situation was, he might have been too scared to loose his son or something. The son could also have asked for help, but he could have also been too scared or too depressed to do so.

In your rush to convince everyone what a good person you are, do you even bother to think things through? Have you been through the foster care system? Trust me: there are fosters that make these conditions preferable. There is almost no oversight, and they hand kids over to anyone who'll take them. I was in prison during the beginning of covid in the US, and the prisons were so over full and crowded that they relegated many of us (including all the women, because there were so many more men) to an abandoned old building from the 1960s that had not been in use for more than 30 years. The conditions were similar to the house in this video. No air/heat, leaking water everywhere, barely a functioning light, mold so bad you can’t breathe, walls, ceiling and paint all crumbling, and roach and rodent infestations. I cannot imagine choosing to stay in a home like this when you have your freedom, it was inhumane for any prisoner or animal. Feel very bad for the son especially. I just know it felt like a prison for him to be there.
@ShadoeLandman7 ай бұрын
This would be nothing like being homeless, where people can steal from you at any time, you don’t have shelter, don’t have a safe space or place to call your own. Yeah, it’s bad, but only the very luckiest homeless people with private or family rooms in good shelters have it better.
@perunarieska91825 ай бұрын
In Finland, we have a "housing first" -policy for the homeless. Housing for everyone, no strings attached, no pre-requirements for it. Winters would otherwise be full of cadavers on the city streets. So I can't fathom why would someone's situation evolve to be this bad, with no heating in the winter. It makes me sad and angry that our society has let this poor kid down.

Even if that house has to be demo'd, the fact that you cleaned it is a good thing because it would have to have been emptied out first. I'll bet because there is no heat, the pipes and fixtures froze, burst, and now leak like crazy. Northern winters are no joke and even if the pipes are insulated, the cold will get to them eventually if the residence itself isn't adequately heated. If they're going to try and save the house, the first things they'll need to replace are the faucets, turn on the heat, and then look over the rest of the plumbing and repair any leaks. I hope that house can be saved because demolishing and rebuilding a house are very expensive.

Seeing the home so far, it is in very rough state even though the leaking faucets are an easy fix. I think with expert people it might be saved with professional plumbing, electrical work and lots of renovation, time and money, it could be made into a decent home without a complete demolish. Its a project for the professionals and not a DIY job. Hopefully there is good bones and foundation... maybe we'll see next week if there is any hope for it. Auri's cleaning may reveal the reality! Time will tell us!

Thank you for always reminding us the importance of therapy and giving it time to make a life improvement 🥰 When you're in a bad place mentally, it's easy to forget to take care of yourself and think your feelings doesn't matter. But, as you said, that's not true.

I really hope the son has somewhere safe and warm to go. Being a teenager is tough enough, let alone what he is going through in his home life. Even if the house is condemned, you probably showed more love to that poor kid than you realize. I’m so glad he had you to help out ❤🫶🥰🙌

The thought occurred to me that if the contents of the pickle jars is brine and not urine the brine might be useful in preliminarily breaking down the dirt for the tough cleaning jobs.

Please tell me the dog was fed and cared for, and not abandoned there. It should have been taken to an animal shelter or charity. So upsetting.

It's certainly not fit for habitation as it is. I think it's very brave of you to tackle it but what is really needed are plumbers and electricians... I look forward to next week and the rest of the story!

113 pickle jars. You are never doing anything pointless when you clean homes like this. All places can be salvaged in one way or another. I believe this place can be remediated with plenty of work on the plumbing, heating, and electric components. I hope the owner can foot the bill to bring it back to a livable state.

For a job like this without heat, layering clothing is helpful, that way you can add or remove clothing as you go and remain comfortable. Also, you may be able to source layers of work clothes from a charity shop. That way if they get too funky you can throw them away afterwards. There are companies that make insulated work clothes such as coveralls that are very durable and can be washed a lot without falling apart. You've done a great job so far with what you found in this house. It seems inhumane and dangerous for humans to live in a house without heat and running water. I am also concerned for the dog, but the welfare of the 17 year old son is of prime concern. Maybe one of your sponsors can pay for a plumber to come into the house and restore and repair the plumbing fixtures and or pay for a safe portable space heater for the owner to at least have in at least one room. God bless you for taking on this job! You have such a good heart.

Auri… I’m sorry you were so cold.. it’s so hard to do anything when we are that cold. The silver lining… the smell would be worse if everything wasn’t basically frozen. Love your channel girl ❤
