I live in this city. I have been a full time long haul driver, and a part time driver trainer. Sadly, in our province we do not have compulsory driver training (as they do in Europe), so many of our people have trouble driving in normal driving conditions. When we have yet another winter storm, these people are out of control, and our accident statistics indicate this very clearly.

No doubt, as usual, these folks were going way too fast for the conditions, and beyond their own skill. But we need to accept that sometimes the roads are not open for safe driving at all.

Many recent immigrants received free Manitoba driving licence and acceptance of driving experience from other countries worth landing 33% discount. All for political reasons. These countries used to be not compatible but magic words like reciprocating countries made them sound compatible. Thank Doyle Piwniuk. These drivers don't bother turning on signals. Why come here to bringing other countries poor practices that are safety concern to existing drivers. Stay home and drive however you like.
