Massive Alpine Lake Rio Grande Cutthroat In The Weminuche Wilderness - Overnight Backfishing Trip

Today my buddy Ryan and I venture back into the Weminuche Wilderness for an overnight adventure chasing massive Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout. We had a 10 mile hike with 3700 feet of gain that defiantly caught us both off guard. Hiking with full packs for the first time this season was a struggle with such a climb but we got it done and it was worth the effort! Once we arrived at the lake we were instantly able to notice fish spawning in the creek with active eaters being present in the lake. Thunderstorms slowed us down in the evening, but we still had a great time fishing where I unfortunately snapped off on two very large trout.
After a nice dinner and some rest we went back at it again in the morning where we found success on a scud bringing two beautiful cutthroat into the net. Unfortunately these fish weren't as big as some that we saw or the others hooked the night before, but they were just as stunning.
As mentioned in the video, unfortunately due to being in a Wilderness area no drone footage could be recorded.
