How do you paint your nails so perfectly every time?? I almost always get polish on my cuticles and have some clean up to do.

Me too...my cuticles are more square making them more difficult.

It definitely helps to go really slow in the case of gels haha but for regular nail polish I'm usually a bit sloppy and then I clean my cuticles off camera!

Gel is more forgiving, you can clean up before you cure and it levels out and looks great even if you apply a bit lumpy etc

I think gels are almost easier because you can fix or clean up any mistakes with a little brush and some acetone. I just love the clean edges and shine you get with gel.

I love stamping over a gel base colors. I am still perfecting different stamping techniques and it great if I make a mistake that I dont have to remove all of it. These colors seem great for base colors of stamping.

I have bought gel polishes on Amazon before because they're cheaper but have never been to impressed by the brands. Will definitely look into this one since it's a brand I know. I love these! But it’s really hard for me to go for gels. Not because I think it’s too hard to do, but because I think it’s too hard... literally. It lasts too long for me and I get bored. I like to switch my polish out frequently 😅😅

Another person said that she used gel for a neutral base, then painted over with conventional polish when she got bored. The regular polish comes off without damaging the gel.

I have a couple of gel polishes and 1 coat from the gels in this vid are like 4-5 coats with the ones I have, the coverage on these are amazing!! The greens look so beautiful especially 0364❤😭 When I was a kid I would often collect rocks, glittery ones, smooth ones, odd looking ones and sometimes crystals too but I focus on rocks! My dad always complained over how heavy my backpack would get whenever I collected them, I sometimes collected big ones too😂

There is a learning curve! Definitely watch some KZbin before you try the first time. My few tips would be: make sure to ALWAYS buff and dehydrate, apply carefully around the cuticle and clean anything that pools up before curing or you'll have weird stuff stuck to your skin that is SO hard to remove and don't expect your base coat to be hard after you cure (base coat stays sticky). Hey, Kelli! Tysm for this giant video, it takes so much time to swatch and edit 😓 I watch some russian nail techs and they use teeny tiny brush to move the gel polishes to avoid patches and level the coat so there're no bumps. I hope this lil tip will help you with gel application and have a nice day 😍🎆💅 (also so sorry if they're some mistakes I'm not native english speaker and didn't use the translator so i can practice a lil bit ❤)

Wow, this was a fantastic video to find waiting in my notifications after a long shift! You're the best, Kelli :D I was surprised not to see any sign of staining when you peeled them off at the end. Did you double up on base coats? The peely base coat I use (Holo Taco's) isn't protective on its own so I usually layer a different base coat over it. I would do that for most of these colours if they were regular polish (especially the super pigmented reds and blue/greens). Is that just not an issue for gels?

I think gels don't stain as frequently as regular polish, but don't quote me on that haha - I also happen to have some pretty stain resistant nails to be honest!!

Kelli, I'm scared of gel lamps. Do you ever get heat spikes? Which do you like better, regular polish or gel? What does the Galaxy Gang think?

I personally prefer regular polish but I enjoy gel because you can take your time applying it and it does last longer! I don't know what a heat spike is to be honest :/

I do know that there are some protective gloves you can buy for lamps, you should check those out to see if that makes you more comfortable!!

I'm late but do you know of any cheaper good quality gel polishes that doesn't need to be cured or are they all that way??

If it's a gel polish, then it'll require curing under a lamp - regular polish dries by air though!

0444 is a very close match to my eye color! Just a bit too blue, I have quite a bit of grayness to my eye color

Also, 376 was my favorite of all these cus I do find it hard for tones I actually like (though not in gel polish) of yellows, greens, oranges, and browns! Edit: I keep having thoughts after and adding replies, but Tiffany blue has a more aqua tone to it, so 0422 is paler in comparison, if that helps! & I could definitely relate on the pretty notebook. xD but I get one for class so I feel accomplished writing, and journaling for food diary!
