I read Out of the Dust to my kids when they were small. It’s like a prose poem about the dust bowl. We all cried. It’s very well done.

Love that you grabbed another Denise Hunter book!!!! I loveee the Winter Street. It's the first book out of a 4 book series. The family is so easy to get attached to. I read Juliet Immortal years ago and found it to be meh and gave it 2 stars. Out of the Easy is my favorite book by Ruta Sypetes (sorry if I just spelt her last name wrong) lol So many great books!!! Happy Reading!!!

Great haul! You may already know this, but Criminal is #6 of her Will Trent series. Pretty Girls is a standalone. The Wheel of Time series is on my "hopefully someday" TBR. There are so many books in the series that it intimidates me.

I didn't realize that Criminal was part of a series. I'll keep that on the sidelines til I decide if Karin Slaughter is for me or not. I'm very intimidated by the Wheel of Time books and am not sure if I'll ever really dive into it, but I've got the first one now...just in case.

Great haul! I'm on the lookout for Winter Streets because I recently picked up Winter Stroll at Goodwill which is the 4th book I think. I have The House at Tyneford but have not yet read it. I read K Slaughter's first series several years ago then swore her off after she ended the series horribly IMO. A word of warning; she can be very graphic. I think she continued some of the characters in another series but not sure. Her books are page turners and very good but somewhat violent.
@terriw3426 жыл бұрын
Oh, looks like Winter Stroll is actually #2.
@BooksAndJams6 жыл бұрын
I will have to look out for the rest in the series. I should have done a bit more homework before getting that one. I wonder if they can be read as standalones. I have heard a few people say that Karin Slaughter is a bit graphic. I will step into that one carefully.

Wheel of Time has been on my list for yeeeears! I started reading the first book at one point but only got a chapter or two in and kinda forgot about it, oops. I didn’t know Gregory Maguire did a Snow White retelling! Okay. Okay. I should probably finish the Gregory Maguire books I already have before getting too excited about this. I’m probably going to read Pretty Girls in May or June (to replace a book on my TBR I decided against). I’ve been hearing it’s extremely gruesome and horrific so I am PUMPED because I’m morbid and love that stuff. What a great haul! I’m so jealous of these amazing library sales you get! Ooh, and an idea for 11/23/63: you should aim to finish it on November 23.
@BooksAndJams6 жыл бұрын
My brothers keep trying to get me to read Wheel of Time, but I'm not convinced it's the book/series for me. Someday. Now I have book 1 for when someday shows up. I have a few unread Gregory Maguire books on my shelves too. I was very disappointed in Wicked because I loved the musical so so much and was just plain bored by the book. I have heard that about Pretty Girls now too and am less convinced it's a book for me! haha.

I’ve read a few of Santa Montefiore’s books and they’ve all been set in Italy so I agree, strange to see one in Ireland. Although, despite her very Italian sounding name she is a British author so 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve added the House of Tyne to my wishlist. Kristin Hannah AND Kate Morton links...it has to be a winner 😁
@BooksAndJams6 жыл бұрын
Montefiore is so fun to say! haha. I just looked her up on Goodreads. She's written a ton of books! I haven't read any of them. Have you liked the ones you read? I have high hopes for House of Tyneford. Add to the awesome tie in's to Kristin Hannah, Downton Abbey and Kate Morton that it's a WWII historical fiction and I'm totally convinced I'm going to love it!
