You can order the clear plastic vent extenders that have magnets that attaches and directs the air/heat from under furniture out into the room That way you could put the bed over the register and the air will blow out into the room.

That was brilliant as always. I can’t believe the amount of stuff that’s leaving. Typical the small room getting the biggest closet. Tom is so funny when he wouldn’t move for you and then started following you around. Here’s an idea about moving the furniture in the room. If you measure the room and get a sheet of paper and scale it to size. Then measure each item of furniture and scale to size but cut out the piece of paper e.g. bed, dresser, crib. You don’t have to move the furniture only move the pieces of paper around the sheet of paper just remember to mark where the door opens and don’t forget the vent. Great job Jodi! For furniture placement ideas maybe put the bed where the dressers are like the headboard on the wall with the window so walking in you would be looking at the headboard then the crib over the vent. If the tall dresser is staying it could be in the corner the bed is in now or if the shorter dresser is staying maybe under the window or in the closet. Hi, I'm a new subscriber. My name is Shari I'm 72yrs. I'm in Eastern Washington, the desert. But a great place to live. Yes I totally understand about your kids. I had 4 kids, 2 boys & 2 girls. Now I have 13 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. Mine were always changing there rooms & decorating & leaving a mess. But most of the time they kept their things clean & organize. They learn how to wash their clothes & wash the dishes. Clean the house some. They each had their chores to do. I worked, so they had to. They're close in age. I had 4 with in 5 1/2 yrs. About the old linens which you don't want anymore- I donate them either to animal shelters or, recently, to quilting groups or other organizations which use them in creative ways such as making rag rugs for the "Mothers Helping Mothers" charitable organization. They give them to women establishing households or sell them and use the proceeds for food and to pay bills on the family's behalf.

In our town, the local school system accepts used (or new, if you have them) prom dresses and saves them to distribute to students who don't have one likely because they cannot afford them. I don't know all of the details and the practice has lagged since COVID-19 issues, homeschooling, etc. has taken a front seat but perhaps you might inquire if there is something similar in your community? I also heard that the PTA or PTO in some places does a similar thing. Because you asked us to let you know some ideas about what to do with the dresses. I always thought this was a good thing. Pageant and formal dresses of all kinds were donated and used.

Omg...My son has the smallest bedroom but a large closet. I guess that is the compensation...lol. Love that you show us the catch all room while decluttering and reorganizing is real. If you do not sell the prom dress our HS collects prom dresses, shoes, jewelry, makeup, etc for students who can not afford to buy these items. The school creates a store the students can shop at. Put the twin bed on the wall that the door opens onto(if there is room) and the crib over the register then the dresser in between the beds like a nightstand. Or get a plastic register cover that redirects the air outward and the twin over register and crib on the other side. Just my thoughts as an interior designer from Canada!

Ok. Since you ask. Whichever dresser you remove, slide the bed down from where it is to be next to the other dresser. ( You could turn the headboard to the wall the dressers are on so the dresser you keep is like a nightstand). Then put the crib over where the heat register is. That's my guess as I don't have any measurements and just from looking on the vid. Then you still have room for a rocker or small comfy chair between the door and the closet. You may need to put a locking clip over the 2closet knobs closest to center of door to keep EJ from messing with the closet doors etc. Hope this helps some

When I put something over a register I get these plastic vent covers that direct the air in one direction like across the floor so that the heat or air doesn’t hit whatever is over the top of it, Amazon has them pretty cheap, they have magnets to hold them in place, works great. Can you come to my house next, I definitely need motivation, I guess I just need to start anywhere, got my closets and pantry done, under the bed storage now I need to pick a room and get it done. You can actually get little plastic covers that redirect the air from the heat vent out into the room instead of straight up. If you put the bed where the dressers are, you could use the dresser as a night table and then the crib in the other corner.... I think it would fall just short of the register.

Hi Jodi! Does the dresser fit inside the closet? If so... put it there and put the crib in the corner where the two dressers are now. When your grandson grows out of the crib put the dresser back and he can sleep in the bed. About the stuffed animals, old clothes aso that you keep in the closet, if your girls want to keep their stuff it needs to be in their room or fit in their memorybin. You can´t keep storing their stuff all over the house. In the long run, that will be an exuse for them not to propper declutter just relocate and when they move out you will stand there with alot of their stuff to handle. Their stuff, their responsibility, not yours 😉

If you don't mind putting the crib over the vent, you can put the bed long ways where the dresser currently is. Then put the crib long ways over the vent. The dresser can go between them. Or you can put the dresser you against the wall by the closet. The crib can go where the two dressers currently are.

Turn the bed head around to where the large chest of drawers are. Keep which ever the set of drawers your keeping in that room beside the head of the bed and slip the cot to the foot of the bed if it will fit :) good luck

It is hard to judge size of everything but this is my idea. Put the dresser where the headboard of the bed is right now. Put the headboard under the window so the bed stretches into the room toward the closet. Put crib where dresser is right now, against the left wall. Good luck. Great decanter all done!

Hey Jodi, what about putting the one dresser in the closet (that you plan on keeping in that room) . The stuffed animals put in Donna Jeans new room. You could get one of those nets that you mentioned or they do have ones that are bean bag covers , you can put the stuffed animals on the inside and use it for seating. So leave the twin bed where it is now, put the dresser inside the closet and put EJ’s crib on the wall where the dressers were . The room would be open and clutter free . Good luck 👍🏻

Great Job! I have done this in my son's room I just got a lot of bags and boxes and put toys in one,Clothes in another and memorabilia in another and I put all of his paper work in another and anything that was truly garbage I through away. He came home one day and I said OK now you need to go through all of this stuff ,so we can get this room together,he got rid of A Lot of stuff and I was so happy and he said he felt less stressed with not having so much stuff. Maybe since the closet isn’t used, you could take the doors off, and make it a crib cubbie. If the bed fits long ways, place is just away from the wall across from the door, and put the dressers in an L shape both under the window and along the other wall. You could use your old night stand in the small space between the bed and the wall across from the door. I hop that makes sense! Keep up the great work!! Your house is looking wonderful!

Love this video! Thoroughly cleaned my master bedroom today and cleaned my 5 year olds room up. Put away a months worth of laundry. I will wash,dry, fold, and hang laundry everyday I just hate putting it away. Our senior pit we lost in November had the exact same Christmas blanket in her crate. She loved blankets in her crate but not beds. It's still in her crate in the kitchen. As for the prom dress you can sell it online. Since have I two daughters I plan to save all the dresses I buy and once I can get rid of them we have a church that we can donate prom dresses too. There are girls that come from all over the state to get a dress because they can't afford to buy one. ❤️

For the bedroom layout, try, twin bed against the wall of where the dressers are, crib under the window and dresser on the wall by the heat vent. I have an idea for the Roman! So where the dressers are now, put the crib(if it will fit) against that wall. I always worried about my babies near the curtains by the crib, and as for as putting the crib over the vent, I’d worry he may get to warm when the furnace is on. Sorry, I’m super cautious about EVERYTHING when it came to my kids, lol. Then, move the headboard of the bed into the middle of the wall so both sides are ‘open’ to get in and out of and put the dresser against the wall next to it. 😊

they sell an, i don't know if it would be considered an attachment, but a plastic shield looking thing at lowe's/home depot to put over your vents and direct the air a different way. So if you put the crib over the vent it would blow the air away and into the room and not just gather the air under the crib

Jodi, great video as usual. I'm thinking that if you moved the headboard to under the window opposite the closet and then put the crib beside it, the crib won't come down as far as the register. Hard to really tell, but it might work.

What an amazing job!! The trash bags...The donation items..Wow!! As far as the room goes... I was wondering if you put the bed opposite to what it is now...and possibly have the crib against the side wall. It hopefully would 'clear' the heat vent. (Yes...I understand you husband's idea on this). Then one dresser stay where the shorter one is now?? Not sure if you can picture what I'm saying! I can't wait to see the finished room!

You could put the dresser you keep for that room, into the closet. I’ve never heard of anyone being able to recoup even a fraction of the cost of expensive event dresses 😕 but they can be donated to schools for girls who may not be able to go to prom otherwise.
