I've mistakenly have been referring to the battalions as companies. Thanks for the comments so far that rectify this. I'll start using correct terms again from episode 4. Cheers!

@@VulcanHDGaming Eugen has the OOB incorrect to begin with for US Army units. For example, Eugen's "4-68th Armored BAT", a Battalion size element (time 38:54), should be the 4/69th Armor (2nd BDE), or 4/66th Armor (3rd BDE) as the 68th was not a part of 3rd ID's 1989 order of battle (OOB). It would be correctly written, if it was, as: "4-68th Armor", "4/68th Armor" It would be said, "4th Battalion, 68th Armor" or being very formal you say, "4th Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment". You may hear "4 68th Armor", "4 68 Armor", or "4 6 8 Armor". This is US Army jargon. US Army units are normally written: Platoon, Company, Battalion, , Brigade, Division, Corps, Army. When you read "-" or "/" Battalion is implied. For example, an Infantry Platoon from 3rd Infantry Division's 1989 OOB: "1st PLT, A Co, 5/15th INF, 1st BDE, 3rd ID (Mech), VII Corps, 7th Army", "1st PLT, A Co, 5-15th INF, 1st BDE, 3rd ID (Mech), VII Corps, 7th Army", "1st PLT, A Co, 5/15th Infantry, 1st BDE, 3rd ID (Mech), VII Corps, 7th Army", or "1st PLT, A Co, 5-15th Infantry, 1st BDE, 3rd ID (Mech), VII Corps, 7th Army". The same Platoon would be listed in an OOB as: 7th Army - VII Corps - - 3rd ID (Mech) - - - 1st BDE - - - - 5/15th Infantry or 5-15th Infantry - - - - - A Co - - - - - - 1st PLT Infantry = INF Platoon = PLT Company = Co -- This is sometimes shortened to just the letter. Battalion = BN -- "BAT" has never been used. Brigade = BDE Infantry Division = ID

I think the US formations are supposed to be read as the Xth Battalion - YZth Regiment. For example 1-64 Armored would be the First Battalion of the 64th Armored Regiment.
@deadmeat_01529 күн бұрын
For US It goes company-battalion-brigade-division-corp, the Cavalry goes troop-squadron-regiment-corp ( regiments are bigger than brigades, small than divisions but act independently like divisions and generally have their own atty and aviation assets)
@NRSGuardian9 күн бұрын
@@deadmeat_0152 That is true, however most US units follow the British tradition of being named for an historical US Regiment. So a US Armored Brigade could be made up of Battalions named like the 1-64th. Like the US 1st Armored Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division is composed of Battalions named 1-64th Armor, 2-7 Infantry, 5-7 Cavalry, and 1-41 Artillery with each of those Battalions named like DrugTino said 1st Battalion, 64th Armored Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, and so on. Also, you have the difference between Regiments and Brigades backwards, though functionally there is no difference between a Regiment and a Brigade beyond Regiment generally being tied to Cavalry. Like the 2nd Cavalry Regiment is the same size as a Stryker Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

I'm pretty sure you dont lose moral for losing transports, the M2A2 Bradleys included. The only thing you lose when they die is field presence (which granted you dont want to lose either) but besides that it's an entirely free tank. (edit: if you want an example: 8:16 a mig comes in and snipes a bradley, the moral is 114 before and still 114 after.)
@VulcanHDGaming9 күн бұрын

@@xxbongobazookaxx7170it actually was like that in the beginning, but it quickly became obvious how broken it was to freely move BMPs or Marders (when only Bruderkrieg was released) without losing anything as they were replaced by the next battle at the same time it was very punishing losing 2 morale for a single infantry squad.

Hey Vulcan. Why is it you seem to sleep on free units? Like the acav m113 scout was 0 points and would have likely provided good close range fire power. And also the 0 point machine gun teams I find pretty useful in pinning down enemy infantry, especially when it's support the other fire teams. Just wondering.

I have been watching some of your older campaigns. One thing that is bugging me a little is that you sometimes make "unrealistic" moves. Like drive one division behind enemy lines to encircle every enemy unit. You can of course do that, its your lets play and all, but do you plan on doing things like that in this campaign? I just like it more when the AI isn't exploited
@VulcanHDGaming9 күн бұрын
I generally try to avoid it as much as possible unless I'm purposefully trying to speed up the end of a campaign.
@grudgebearer14048 күн бұрын
Considering each turn is only two hours it isn't unrealistic at all some formations to go behind the frontline momentarily and attack the supply routes and rearguard. Also, in this specific campaign doing this in the beginning is almost useless and self defeating as you will get counter encircled due to the abundance of formations.
