I wish I had someone to go through my completely disastrous 3 closets, 2 dressers a coat closet and all of the shoes that I have bought without judgement. My mom passed away a long time ago, it is so wonderful that you not only live close to your mom but spend so much time together!

A friend told me about the trick of hanging your hangers backwards at the beginning of the year. Anything you take out to wear and you rehang them up, hang them up as you normally would. At the end of the year anything that is still hanging backwards is something that you haven’t worn all year and is probably something you can sell or donate. Also instead of the plastic hangers I use the velvet type hangers (you can get them from Costco). They take up a lot less room on your closet pole and look much neater. I also hang my pants on a proper pant hanger so they aren’t as bulky, which also takes up less room. Instead of folding bulky sweaters or sweatshirts over a hanger, see if you have space in a drawer to fold them. I learned all these tricks from a dear friend who is a wizard at organizing. Edited to add that mystery boxes are not something that interests me; I like to know what I’m buying, but that’s just my preference.

In my experience during any closet clean out, there is a moment where I'm really, really sorry I started. It's always worth it in the end, but not a lot of fun getting there.

I would prefer individual pieces, so hard to put together what others would like. I think a box of shorts, a box of jeans, a box of tops might be a good way to go. Maybe 3 items per box. Just my thoughts.

Oh my goodness!!! You have a lot of clothes!!! I keep doing clean outs as I am losing weight. I take my items to a resale store called Clothes Mentor. It doesn't pay a lot, but it's the easiest way for me. Can't wait to see what you do post!!! Have a great week.

Individual pieces! I love your idea of outfits and bundles but as a someone who is short it would be less to buy. Just a thought, try the bundles first, if they don’t sell then sell individually. 😊

Outfits would be hard unless they were a set. Bundles would be easier, say 3 workout tees. I don't know what a mystery box would be but that's why it's a mystery? Maybe a box of walmart, target and old navy. I buy those brands but I know they don't have much value for resale. Most plus size brands are considered fast fashion which IMO a reason its challenging to find plus sizes for reselling.
