It might be worth investing in an OBD Scanner for that excavator. First, do your research, thoroughly. Right, now that important part is out the way. There should be a OBD 1/OBD 2 port, places do sell tools to diagnose and reset certain functions of these machines. Just ensure what you get has the right software for your machine, and of course look at what people say about it. It could be worth posting on some forums too to ask about it. I mean, this whole thing with Volvo is directly against the right to repair. You own it, you should be allowed to fix it. Oh, also great video, I really enjoyed it, from sunny Scotland. :)

I agree that needing to get volvo out to make the line work on the digger is ridiculous. I hate how electronic everything is getting. I dont need my lawn mower to have a computer in it, just give me a simple ICE engine attached to a spinning blade, preferably add a gear box to self propel the thing, and thats all I need. I dont need to see how many RPM's the blade is doing, I dont need to see what the pressure is inside the cylinder, I dont need a fuel gauge, take the damn computer off and give me something that doesnt need a computer to work!!!

3:15 We have this issue in America, both in tech and farming equipment. It's not right. People should be able to repair their own equipment. I admit it gets complicated with software being as distributed as it is today but that's just something software developers need to solve.
