Your making a stunning job on it, only 40k! You'll spend that on any car pristine restoration, but for Ferrari BBI that's pennies! So in answer to your question was it worth it, too bloody right it was as it's going to be worth a fortune at the end especially with the well documented restoration! Can't wait to see it finished.

Scott for £40000 its not bad going, okay some more costs still to come but a pristine 512 BBi if you sold one today would net you £250,000 +. Absolutely the right choice. Missed this series so glad you are back on it, don't lose hope it's so easy when it takes so long to do.

I don't think your bonkers. Honestly when I see other channels that are doing restorations they don't go through every nut and bolt and along with OEM parts. Scott you are setting a expectation for yourself that no one else can compete. When this BBI is done it's going to be museum quality no one has one this pristine and you should be so proud of yourself for doing something that not many would ever attempt and in all of it in a home garage.

It's all about getting Ferrari OEM parts. Sure they are stupid expensive but the completed car value is directly related to the originality of the parts used in the refurbishment. Throw in a bunch of aftermarket bits like hoses and the like and instead of saving a few hundred quid, it will cost you tens of thousands in sale value :)

As I recall you bought the BBi for £80,000 ?. Now having spent another £40,000 for a running total of £120,000 and I won't be surprised if you spend another £20,000 before it's finished. I've no clue what a concourse condition BBi ( likely amongst the rarest in the world) is worth, but I've got to imagine it's far more than that!. PS Scott, personally I'm a biker and never really been a car bloke, but what seems like a few lifetimes ago in 1980 I was 18 and living in Ocean beach California and a university class mates father bought a brand new white BBi and that car I did fall in lust with. That's really cool that Koni would hook you up with a suspension rebuild. People remember stuff like that, good company.
