Your making a stunning job on it, only 40k! You'll spend that on any car pristine restoration, but for Ferrari BBI that's pennies! So in answer to your question was it worth it, too bloody right it was as it's going to be worth a fortune at the end especially with the well documented restoration! Can't wait to see it finished.

Rather own GT40 or S1 GT Italian cars are buckets of shit worse electrical components than. Chinese motorbikes it's not a 250.000 FERRARI it's been used abused left to rot it'd be broken for parts 40k be lucky get engine built. By Ferrari specialist. Not a hope in hell of. Prices you quote low mileage pristine cars not amateurs rebuild without Ferrari stamped book on all work it's devaluation is sky high nobody wanted the model model when new bee needing 100 grand or more for car never get money back on

I don't think your bonkers. Honestly when I see other channels that are doing restorations they don't go through every nut and bolt and along with OEM parts. Scott you are setting a expectation for yourself that no one else can compete. When this BBI is done it's going to be museum quality no one has one this pristine and you should be so proud of yourself for doing something that not many would ever attempt and in all of it in a home garage.

I believe that's just clear silicone tubing that has faded yellow over the years (fellow '83 BBi owner). And yes, that first one you grabbed is for the starter. There are some resto threads on FerrariChat that show those being replaced with clear silicone and not losing Concours points.

Investment wise, you're making the right choice. If you spend 140k all in and you sell it for 250k, that's an amazing profit. That's a better return than most property projects. ...now you're well on the way to funding the F40, which I beleive will take your channel to the next level. Well done indeed

Bringing a car back to life like this one that had been basically left for dead was not going to be cheap or easy. You're saving something that is quite unique. There are plenty of race shops online you can get new rubber hoses from you just need to measure them. You may be able to get them in a neoprene or polyurethane too. The can use a heat gun to bend the hose into shop. I hope this helps and save you the ridiculous Ferrari tax!!

It's all about getting Ferrari OEM parts. Sure they are stupid expensive but the completed car value is directly related to the originality of the parts used in the refurbishment. Throw in a bunch of aftermarket bits like hoses and the like and instead of saving a few hundred quid, it will cost you tens of thousands in sale value :)

As I recall you bought the BBi for £80,000 ?. Now having spent another £40,000 for a running total of £120,000 and I won't be surprised if you spend another £20,000 before it's finished. I've no clue what a concourse condition BBi ( likely amongst the rarest in the world) is worth, but I've got to imagine it's far more than that!. PS Scott, personally I'm a biker and never really been a car bloke, but what seems like a few lifetimes ago in 1980 I was 18 and living in Ocean beach California and a university class mates father bought a brand new white BBi and that car I did fall in lust with. It's been a fascinating journey keeping up with this restoration & it's why I found & subscribed to your channel. Weirdly I hope you never finish it so there'll always be another episode to look forward to!.😂

I saw my first BBi at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in the early 80s. At that time they were 80K U.S. so I think Scott has made all the right choices. On this type of car does not matter the cost of restoration because it is pure art, inside and out.
