Nice mini, great base. I always love your bases. Totally put mine to shame! Benson and I have got bored of painting Ogres :-D there are sooooo soooo many of them in MD.

+Watch It Paint It thank you! Really glad you like them, I really enjoy doing them :) There are quite a few indeed! But they are all designed quite different which is nice ^.^

I plan to paint them all in the same time to give them a unity like an ogre tribe

+Akuu76 ah perfect! There sure are a lot of them. That's the only reason I painted his skin the way I did, I painted the Ogre Rockbreaker very early on and wanted it to match. They are all so different from each other too!

Nice work ! Very much looking forward to painting this mini myself. For some reason this is my favourite mini out of all the MD minis. Cant really make out why. But i think it looks great!

Thank you! I can see that, I actually really like him too. It's a very interesting sculpt with his huge arms and hands, tattoo, and magic staff (for an Ogre!)

+Akuu76 he is super unique and is sculpted very well. Can't put my finger on it beyond that though.

Over-brushing is often used for a wet brush doing a dry brush like technique
@TheKingofAverage7 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I'll have to look that technique up! I just recently discovered the crazy "2 brush" technique :D

Again a very good work but you should never never water down the shades use medium instead. If I can give you a piece of advice try to work more on the shadings that will pop your highlights even more
@TheKingofAverage7 жыл бұрын
+Akuu76 thanks, and good advice! I just bought some medium yesterday and will certainly do that next time :)
@Akuu767 жыл бұрын
Also try to mix some shades together, don't be afraid to try. For example for grey metals I mix black and blue and for the gold brown and blue (mot of the time). If you stay in your work of the skin you can also try a green shade (1:1 or 1:2 with medium it must be light) in the darkest shadow zone and then a flesh wash everywhere because, pay attention to it, the natural shade of the skin is green. You are skilled enough to get a step further dude, I"m 100% of that. Give yourself a chance to enhance your skill

Thank you very much! That's great advice as well. I recently watched Sorestros KD:M video and he also used green hints in the skin. I'm highly doubtful of my artistic ability so I definitely have to be told or see someone else do it first. I saw a guy the other day paint an entire fur cape with nothing but washes and it was fascinating. There are so many cool tricks and methods and I'm learning all the time, still very new to all of this :) I'll take your points and keep them in my tool chest for future paintings!

OK you can watch Sorastro, ghoolsworld and Watch it paint it, I follow them too because I like to see how people do in other ways I do and they are very good painters. But if you want some tutorials go there : kzbin.infoplaylists the studio painters of P3, especially Dallas Kemp, will show you all the keys to master the art of painting a mini. You want someone to show you ? They do ! I've learned so much with them

All great guys for sure :) I recently discovered P3's videos, watching one later today about OBS since I did it for the first time a bit ago and learned through it but didn't do any research beforehand which it kinda shows. Warhammer TV also has some good ones and I've enjoyed Tabletop Minions' painting videos with Alex as well. KZbin is honestly fantastic for this sort of thing :D I'll definitely look more into P3's videos!
