I could ramble on about this miniature for hours :D. I don't know what it is, but just had so much fun painting Owen! I hope you like it.

Michael Halbert I am happy to help you! Is there something you are thinking of painting next?

Something from warhammer 40k

Michael Halbert cool. Let me know what your next project is. I am curious to see how your next mini will look. In the beginning you will improve a lot just after a few minis. My firsr minis were not so good. But I improved from my bad minis to better pretty fast.

I will, from base to finish.

Alas....the lonely life of a miniature painter. We might not always comment or like, be we do enjoy watching your videos . Keep up the good work

Syrinx 2112 thank you so much. That is so kind of you. I was wondering if anyone would listen to my jibber jabber at the end ;). It is easy to be a lonely life painter. The hobby is more fun together and to connect with each other :).

@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Oh hehe. The base struggle was real and thank you so much for your help. I love how it looks now. It looks very good with the game art on the tiles. But the figure out what I wanted took a bit of time ^^.

Ok, yesterday I bought my 10 chaos marines (38.00--a little expensive but it is games workshop) and I bought an8.00 book and got a free space marine. also got some reikland flesh and agrax earth shade along with a drybrush. Now the fun begins.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Wow you bought a lot of stuff to paint some great miniatures :D. You will love the shades. Now you have the 3 main shades you will need. You can pretty much shade anything with those so that is awesome. And it is also nice that you have those miniatures which are the same. After painting your first you will improve to paint your next one. You can see your progress and also start to learn it pretty easy. That is great news! I hope you will enjoy it.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
I don't have to big a problem laying down the colors, it's the shading and highlights that I have a problem with.

What type of brushes do you use? It looks like you don't use citadel paints very much. One thing I like about citadel paints is that they offer a wide spectrum of shades within each color- that way I don't have to mix paints. I loath mixing colors; too much work for me ;)
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Travis Hunter I buy my brushes at my local paint shop: Da Vinci - NOVA synthetics. They cost around €3,- each, the bigger brushes cost a bit more. I have a few Citadel paints. I do like them but I notice a never use them. The reason is that I prefer the eyedroppers which Vallejo and Scale75 have. That is pretty much the reason. Vallejo also has a big range of paints with there Game Color, Model Color and other lines they have. For me the fun is in mixing colors to 'create your own colors'. I just love to do that, to make my own colors ^^.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
Vallejo has a line of military paints (ww2) would those, could those be of use. I tend to see fantasy or war gaming painting sort of in the "fantasy" range I guess not so much drab but bright-ish kinds of colors
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Those can be of use yes. For fantasy you do want some more bright-ish colors but you can also mix them with other kinds of paints of course. They have some nice brown tones for sure.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
oh yeah, total bill 147.00. I think I'll use white primer on them all, the chaos are red and the reg. space marine a dark blue.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Well yea... The downside of this hobby is that is not cheap to get started, unfortunately... I also spend some money on my paints, brushes and all the stuff. I do enjoy painting a lot. The board games I paint I would have bought also if i was not painting.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
Hey hot stuff, I have nuln oil, can I use that to shade everything or should I use something else?
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Michael Halbert you can use Nuln Oil for almost everything! There is one exception: skin tones. For the skin you should use Reiklandflesh shade, you should really get that if you are going to paint skin. Other then that you can use nuln oil. I use it for dark colors like black and gray but also for light colors like white. And it works well with all the other colors (blue, red, yellow, green etc). If you ever want to buy the next shade (so you have nuln oil and reiklandflesh) then I can recommend Agrax Earthshade as a dark brown shade. Oh and a bonus tip to use nuln oil on light colors. If you dont want that color to darker as much mix the nuln oil 50/50 ish with water. You have then also more controle of the shade on the lighter color. You can apply an other layer on areas where you want more shade. I hope this helps :).
@travishunter77187 жыл бұрын
I have found that nuln oil is pretty universal. I used it throughout painting my Shadows of Brimstone miniatures. I haven't considered mixing it with water. I usually apply it thickly as I love how it flows into all the creases.

What??? no red finger nail polish? how could you paint? Once again a very nice job. Are you ever going to paint the "bad" guys, they deserve some lovin (paintin) too.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Michael Halbert haha. I actaully bought some new glitter nail polish. And I want to try them out ;). I do love my red colors but I found it time to buy some different colors ^^. Thank you. And he was pretty easy to paint. I will also paint some monsters. I dont know when. I will check then out to see if there is an interesting one to paint. Tho the next one will be an other hero.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
Your nails look as great as you and the mini's you paint. And like Syrinx 2112 says we do listen to you even if we forget to push like.

Hehe great to hear! I guess I can always count on you! To watch my video's which is great. After uploading I always wonder when I will see the first comment from you. I did got a little worries it took you almost one day, hehe. You are always super vast :D.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
Ok,x so my next purchase is Vallejo paints, any suggestions?
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
That is not a simple question to answer. It depends what you have and what kind of paints (colors) you look for, I wish it was more simple than that.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
MissFlame paints Gee, I had to give you at least one hard question.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Give me some guidelines. Are you looking to buy a pack or single paints? And what direction of colors or you want a bit of everything to have a nice base? And how much would you like to spend. I can just tell you to buy the big pack with most of the paints haha.
@CulturedRuffian7 жыл бұрын
Yup, still here. :)

@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Yes! It is real! I know I dont 'need' more but still I want to get more :D.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
so, basically I decide what color scheme (withing reason) and go for it.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Michael Halbert great. In the beginning it is hard to know which colors you will like and need. If you have a base and start painting it will be mucg easier to figure out. I do have a lot of paints but you do not need all of them. Although I am thinking of buying more >.
@michaelhalbert92647 жыл бұрын
Games Workshop is expensive anyway--yesterday I saw a completed Citadel paint set, all the paints that they have 700.00 ah, no thanks.
@MissFlamepaints7 жыл бұрын
Michael Halbert they are indeed. That is also a reason why I have chosen Vallejo. It was not as expensive as the Citadel paints and I like the eyedroppers.
