@autistichuman1401 PlantSims and Servos don't have any skill trees either. However, I think it's much more important for occults created in Create a Sim to have a skill tree. PlantSims are temporary occults so they don't need a skill tree, but it would be great if we had trees that could also bear fruit as long as they were PlantSims. :D

I make a lot of save files where I'm adding in characters from different franchises, and the number of times I find a great-looking sim for a character but it's the wrong occult (or human) type is astounding. Now I can just fix them.

At least, with the spell caster, you can go to the magic island from Glimmerbrook and have him become a spell caster with the help of one of the sages. Then, you can have a Sim become a merfolk by eating the kelp then go for a swim. Get bitten by a werewolf can turn you into a werewolf, and a higher vampire can turn you into a vampire. BUT, all of those require some work and travel.

I think you can only have babies with Grim if you have Life and Death. In the pack trailer they showed the animation with the "Try For Baby" option, but it was noticeably absent in the base game update, only "Woohoo" seemed to be available. I think Grim babies and special traits will be pack specific.

@@HollynCecil There's two ways that creators would be compensated. The first and less good option is that they're given a flat payment for use and it's added to the store. The better option is that they earn a % per download, but with what was said in the video, this seems unlikely. They're most likely going to be treated as freelancers who have done a commission piece and earn substantial money off a one-time payment.

I thought the most exciting thing would be the return of the ability to woohoo Grim (they patched it out like a month after release because romancing Grim and then having him join the household, resulted in no one collecting the bodies, resulting in game breaking glitches, and it was happening ALOT because absolutely everyone was trying to marry Grim) but it was NOT! I was SO OVERWHELMINGLY excited about the update where your dependent sims will NO LONGER BE YEETED INTO OBLIVION when the last adult in the household dies. I have so many divorced sims in separate households, and having the children be deleted when their other parent literally still existed in the game was so frustrating. I also occasionally have the kids temporarily move in with Grandma, so their single parent can go back to university, and I have had saves where Grandma unexpectedly died while I was playing the parent at Uni and the kids were just deleted! I am so excited they fixed this.

For example, Bella Goth died in one of my recent playthroughs and I couldn't figure out how she died thru checking the neighborhood stories on the mailbox. I'll be so glad my child sims wont be insta-gone forever when reloading them after playing another family for a short while! In my 'unplayed-played households' the childrens school grades always drop really low... Then upon reloading they're often frustratingly immediately whisked away and then were gone for good. You can use the freeze CAS clock cheat to get them to hold still, but it’s a hassle and if you’re like me, you can never manage to pause them while they’re in neutral mode

Honestly, this is such an amazing update for base game. Totally didn’t expect it to be so epic. And Holy Moly I love the new creator kits. I love that it’s a way for people to support CCers in an affordable way and for kids to have CC too since I know most parents I know at least with kids who enjoy the Sims don’t want them downloading from sites they haven’t personally investigated or don’t want them paying a monthly fee to a Patreon. Truly. I think Creator Kits are the best way for kits to shine and are what I thought kits always should have been. Either collabs with content creators on YT or CC/mods content creators where the actual content is made by the modder.

As someone who used to work at EAs childcare center and witnessed many layoffs of the sims team due to EAs ‘restructuring’ which is probably partially due to them relying more on the community to create packs, this decision saddens me. They are making creator packs because it’s cheaper and laying off hundreds of employees.

i removed all my mods before the update and the normal UI in game is completely broken 💀 but this update is so exciting

Try to remove the whole sims 4 folder from your documents and put it somewhere on your PC and then load a new game. Play with it for about 2-3 minutes and save and exit. Go back to that same folder and drag your tray and save file folders into the new generated sims 4 folder in documents. Now sort through any broken mods by removing them by the 50/50 process until things are fixed. Edit: UI glitches are always caused by broken files from mods so you'll have to generate a new folder. Taking your mods out will not be enough.

got a cowplant today with my gardener sim. Went to rename it and its default name was Little Simzee, i thought that was intentional and too perfect so i kept it. didn't know if you knew but i thought it was cool.

this update has incredible timing for me personally. This used to be my favorite time of year but my mom died november 3rd so i always get depressed and think about death a lot around halloween/dia de los muertos. this has got me really excited for that time, to celebrate it and remember her fondly. its like the perfect way to reinvent and evaluate my mourning on that day, there might be something in it i adopt as my own yearly tradition, however cheesy as it is lol.

Thank you for saying the modders carry the game, it's so true, I'm a bit older so I remember when the first one came out, bought it at a book store and was hooked for life, play sims 1, 2, 3, and finally sims 4, to my dissapointment sims 4 sucks without the script mods from the dedicated script modders to the object creators, without them I sadly probably wouldn't play the game anymore, thanks for the video

It would be so nice for cc creators to be able to post their packs on an official EA shop where they can sell it and then EA takes like a certain percentage which means it would be official and you wouldn’t have to re-download the packs every time the game updated

In options/other you can enable CC and Disable script mods. This is going to be so much fun. The way Grim said it's a lot the way he did in the trailer almost sounded like they mimicked you. Kinda like this pack was made with you in mind. So many Simsie references. It's awesome either way. I cannot wait, but I'll be on a cruise next week.
