I think you knocked it out of the park considering it is November. I think you showed at least 8 species of snakes. That first Seepage Salamander was a work of art and looked like it was made of copper. I had to pause the video to order my calendar- thanks for the discount.

Y'all came to central Alabama? I live just south of Birmingham. I'd love to know where I can find such beautiful specimens like y'all do. I love to photograph them in their natural habitat. P.S.: I love your mission, Noah. I love how you are set out to show the majesty of the misunderstood and diminish the hatred toward snakes. We need EVERY animal in our ecosystems as they all serve an important role. Snakes are no exception.

I love how hognose snakes try to make us think that they’re all scary and weird 😱but to us snake lovers they are flat out adorable 🥰 Beautiful diamondback lady; I hope her little ones are safe ❤ And: I really REALLY want one of these snake calendars but my housekeeper is absolutely terrified of snakes and would quit if she saw it. BTW..gorgeous fall landscape. We don’t get that out here in Southern California.

What is the “scooting” for? Is there some purpose for that behavior?

So I was in the sand hills near lumber city GA today..drove 7hrs from Virginia..hiked for 6 hrs and couldnt find a single snake anywhere..any ideas to why ? Temps ranged from 53 to 73 while I was there. I'm used to timbersall the time in the VA mountains, maybe I just don't what I'm doing in the south?
@oldschool78542 ай бұрын
What part of VA do you live in (if you don’t mind me asking)? I also live in VA and am an avid herper (I wish I had more time to go out in the field, but that’s a different story, lol). Good question about not finding snakes in GA, but it probably helps to have buddies/family down there that can point out to the best places to go, where there’s AC, etc. (although perhaps you do). Plus, it’s mid November, so I would think it’s a bit hard to find snakes even in the areas you visited.

@@oldschool7854 I live in Abingdon Virginia near Bristol. Hike all the time from April-September photographing timbers...I'm out of my zone in Georgia..or maybe the weather is just not right now

@@whiteblazeoutdoors6683 okay, cool. I live in Fairfax county, probably like 5-6 hours away (in the DC area aka the “DMV”). Yeah dude, you probably need to contact some herpers down in GA and they can probably give you various pointers & advice. BTW, are you still seeing snakes down there around where you live? I’ve been seeing a few in the NOVA piedmont/coastal plain here & there, but most are starting their brumation/hibernation process. I’m now mostly focused on herping and hiking up various salamanders, lol.

@@oldschool7854 no it's already too cold for snakes where I live. I got a Nerodia and Regina about 2 weeks ago when it was still warmer but that was later than normal

@ okay, yeah I feel you man. Since late October, it’s definitely harder for me to find snakes up here. Last weekend I found a Black racer and an Earthsnake, but that was after looking for hours and hours. This weekend (yesterday) I actually lucked out and found a Red-belly. However, in the Mid-Atlantic region (regardless of where one is) it’s almost impossible to find any of our slithering friends now. But those are some great, last snake finds for the season (Watersnake & Queensnake) 👌
