This was super interesting to watch! It was nice to see some snow as someone who got robbed of what this area of NC was supposed to get, haha. I personally really liked the extra talking! You're very knowledgable and have genuinely taught me a lot about nature. Stoked to see what you do this year, Noah. Keep it up!

Fun to see herping in the snow! 😊 We got a couple of inches here in upstate SC, still not all melted in the yard. New to your channel and loving going through your videos, great stuff here! The extra narration is always interesting and good. Looking forward to all your adventures in 2025!

Thanks for a great winter walk in the snow Noah. That was plenty of action for me! Great herping educational video. And FWIW, I've enjoyed your lives that I've been able to catch. Please keep doing them!

I am in Dallas, Georgia. We got about 3 inches of snow! We had a few days of snow hiking/herping! I found nothing but deer tracks but always fun to get out in the snow in North Georgia! It is a nice change from the norm ❄️ Nice video!

Great episode. I don't think I would've ever considered herping in snow until after this video. I'm sorry about your car. It is extremely frustrating to not have a vehicle. I can definitely say it's a stressful thing. I hope you are back whipping the streets soon. I always appreciate what you do and hope all is well with you and your family. I'll catch you on the flipside. Richard and Heather from Arkansas

This was a great video Noah! It felt like I was there with you walking in the woods listening and learning. I am so looking forward to this year and what you have in store. Please be careful (I know you will be) and stay well. I can’t wait to see where you are going in a couple of months. 😄💙🐬🐍🐊🫶🏻

Loved this video. Thanks for the amazing content, takes a lot of work I'm sure. I hit a deer a few weeks ago, so I'm also carless at the moment & it really sucks😅. Hope you have a great 2025.

Those were a couple of really interesting days, it’s great to be out there with you, Noah. I can’t get out much (in Portsmouth U.K.) so your videos are a breath of fresh air and whilst I love seeing the diversity of reptiles the walks are lovely too. ❤

Jee I really like this! The herping in the snow is really fun! Btw my first snake of the year was a Cali Kingsnake, that’s what happens when ya herp NorCal 😉

I’ve never known much about salamanders, but I’m starting to get a handle on them, thanks to you! Nice that you actually found a snake, too.

Good stuff as always brother! I’m really concerned about this historic cold, I’m almost sick over it. I really hope the herps can pull through this one. I’m anxious to see your spring outings, fingers crossed. Keep up the good work brother!💪🏻🐍🦎🐸🐢

Nice video! Where I'm from around Chicago, the only thing I'm able to find this winter are mudpuppies in the cold waters, while I'm waiting for late February or March for the herps to start coming out. It's cool to see you find all of those salamanders and earth snake out when it is so cold out! Sorry about your car crash. I hope you weren't harmed in that, and I hope you can get back on your feet soon!
@stefanostokatlidis48614 күн бұрын
This was surreal. I don’t remember any other winter with snow on your channel. You still managed to find a decent diversity though. Also nice spotted salamanders. The only big minus was the habitat destruction from development.

Noah ive reported 3 Northern pine snakes to that place you told me about like 2 years ago that tracks them - in Dahlonega - all 3 in same area- you may be able to find one there -

Here in western Michigan, if it was early spring and we had a day like that(patchy snow free ground and temps in the 50's), there would be snakes out in sunny spots, especially garters and racers!

Last time we had snakes on snow here was the winter of 1811-1812 before the New Madrid earthquakes. 🙄 On a related note, I'd like to have a dog named Desmog.

I would call that a great couple of days considering the weather. That picture at the end of the Spotted Salamander in the snow was really cool. Thanks to Noah's mom for lending her car and making this possible.

I wish I could go somewhere that still had herps this time of year. Here in Minnesota, they all go into hibernation around early-mid November and don’t come out until late-march.
@haroldhahn70444 күн бұрын
If they look like a kitten, it is probably a mink. If the temp. is above 40 degrees F, and there is rain, you may see amphibians migrating across the snow.

You gotta to go to areas with limestone out croppings and ive seen rattlers and copperheads, sunning themselves at them temps.

Thecontrast as somone living in a northen area with lots of snow every year. Envying you that at least has more then 3 snake spicies in your area. And they aren't even so rare that all of them have to be protected and illigal to handle.
