The Roland heads will not solve the trampoline effect of the kick drums. You need to have a block of foam press against the back of the batter head from inside the drum. Drum-tec, Roland and effnote kicks also have it. I did it with my DIY kit and it seems amazing, give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

I have been trying to combine two modules , I have Alesis strike pro se and yamaha dtx2 and run them through superior drummer 3 and I no luck. Can you explain in a little more detail on how you were able to make it work.
@Spacebornekiller
@Spacebornekiller 3 ай бұрын
So each module has a USB cable port (type B) that you then connect to your PC (type A). They both need to be connected to the PC. Also make sure you have all the drivers needed for your PC to run them. Some this is automatic some you may have to do this manually. Once they are both connected (and both turned on) go to SD3 > settings >midi in/Edrums > midi Device (if both aren’t showing hit rescan) make sure both are checked. Then the fun of mapping begins which I can’t help on that I don’t have those modules. The other way to do it is to slave one module to the other by using midi cables and you would need to read your manual for those.

How do you hook up that many cymbals & do you have both modules linked together?
@Spacebornekiller
@Spacebornekiller 8 күн бұрын
Second part of your question answers the first part. Both modules are plugged into the laptop via USB cables and are used to trigger the Superior Drummer 3 software. I show how it’s done in another video I did.

Do you mean how? USB connection via Superior drummer 3. They both will pop up and you just select both. EZD3 is the same.

@@Spacebornekiller I mean, did you connect the two modules by cable?
@Spacebornekiller

@@Ludo_A by USB cable to the PC. They both have their own USB ports and I got a cable for each and plugged directly into my PC USB ports.

Hi, what's your current setup latency?
@Spacebornekiller
@Spacebornekiller 3 ай бұрын
I run at 196 samples. My latency and yours won’t be the same so you shouldn’t go by anyone specific. I can run my setup at 256 and still be fine. I have optimized my laptop for latency by which set hardware acceleration on SD3, in SD3 I set it for 2 core use instead of one, I turned on hypervisor and vm support configuration (windows 10 & 11 kernels are ran virtually turning on these configurations decreases global latency), my gpu is running nvidia studio drivers, 32gb of ram to prevent page swapping. With this for me I have found I don’t have any latency and don’t have to run at low samples(low samples can cause sound distortion).
@klinsmann6706
@klinsmann6706 3 ай бұрын
@@Spacebornekiller You can see the latency number on SD3 midi device. Please share that info. thanks
@Spacebornekiller
@Spacebornekiller 3 ай бұрын
@@klinsmann6706 that doesn’t represent your actual latency just what latency SD3 will have and that number is 10ms at the standard hertz. As I stated above this doesn’t affect me.

@@Spacebornekiller you invested money and don't want to deal with the fact that you still have latency.
@Spacebornekiller

@@klinsmann6706 I don’t not experience detectable latency. If I did I would lower the samples.

The Lemon cymbals are good, but the drum pads are not that great. In Japan, the cost with shipping is not that bad, but in order to get a Lemon e-kit shipped to the states for how crappy they are(except the cymbals), makes them rather expensive. If you live in the United States, the best place to go for a great e-kit is E-Drum Center. They specialize in electronic drums. They have all the major good brands as well as their fully customizable Drum Tech line. I bought my high-end e-kit from there, and it is much better and about the same cost as doing a Lemon/Roland e-kit in the U.S. E-Drum Center does not carry Lemon e-kits, but they did get one to review to see what the hype was about, and the video is on KZbin as they have a channel. The synopsis of their review was that the cymbals are good as they do sell them, but since the Lemon e-kit was not up to their standard and too cheaply made, did not have great feel or response, so they will not be carrying, or selling them. Being in Japan, the Millennium e-kits are a bit better than the Lemon e-kits but still not recommend as like the Lemon sets are cheaply made. I looked at e-kits on Ali Bubba and almost went with a Millennium e-kit. After watching multiple review videos on the Millennium e-kits as well as the Lemon e-kits and others, I came to the conclusion that most of what Ali Bubba had to offer was either too poorly made or just becomes too expensive to get shipped to the U S. for what they are. Also, Lemon is very hard to get a hold of if you have an issue with their e-kit. The e-kit I went with is phenomenal, much better built, has superior sounds over Roland, the snare, ride, and hi-hat are not digital but inpar with and mabe even a bit better than the Roland digital. For you in Japan, the e-kit you put together is less expensive than you can do it for in the U.S. but the Lemon pads, unfortunately, are unreccomendable. The Roland portion of the e-kit is good, but I do not believe Roland to be the best anymore as you can get a superior bigger e-kit from another brand that has some things better than even the digital, for about the same cost. Your e-kit looks great, but in conclusion, there are better quality( in terms of build quality, response, feel, sound, and sound depth) ones out there for about the same cost as what you did.

Edrum center does carry lemon kits they just became a seller a couple months ago. I watch the same video. It’s their opinion. One persons experience isn’t the same as someone else’s. Also the company changed the things he said he had a problem with. And there is nothing better than the digital hi-hat. Are there good hi-hats out there? sure but none as good. Same with the digital ride. Have you ever had a lemon kit? Because definitely sounds like you haven’t. The person you reach out to on Alibaba is the same one you buy from and he is very quick about solving issues with the kit if you have one. Everyone I know with a lemon kit can attest to that. Also if you’re going to say something is better for the same price as what I did provide evidence. Cause you can make opinions all day long. Just for my rack and the Kit we are talking about $5,400. Please find a kit that provides the best hi-hat or a really good one, best ride or a good one, good snare, good module(to run what I’m running you will need two modules), two kick drums, and same or very similar cymbals for the price I just listed. You bought a high end kit that’s cool glad you enjoy it. I enjoy my kit. As I stated in the video the only thing I swapped out was the bass drum mesh heads. It’s long known in the edrum community that you don’t need Tom’s that cost $200-400 each just to have. Most DIYs people will get cheap drum shells the find on Amazon or facebook marketplace (build quality is not an issue). Response and accuracy that will always depend on the module. The TD50X is the best when it comes to that. But like I stated here in my reply here, I’d definitely love to see you find a kit just like mine for $5400 that is high end. I looked definitely didn’t find such a thing. Also I made the kit the way I did because I wanted to. I built a high end PC put a video up here on KZbin. I’m using a very old case some ask me why? Because I like the case it’s that simple same with the kit.

Just to make sure, you are routing the audio from the lemon in to the roland right? You are not triggering the whole thing through the roland
@Spacebornekiller
@Spacebornekiller 3 ай бұрын
No. All audio is via laptop on Superior Drummer 3 (VST). Both modules are connected via USB cables to the laptop which is how the module’s sending midi data. Also I’d never use lemons sounds ever. They are pretty bad. You can trigger lemon in Roland but you must use a Roland kit that can accommodate the extra midi notes to map. VST’s with or without DAW make kit expansion easier.
