I love the polycottons! They’re so cheap and also cute and they are thin but still work as a good Scrunchie material

The spotlight near me had 30% off most fabrics, but their prices are still higher than I'd like. The cheapest fabric I saw was $8 a metre and they were kids fleecy fabrics, the stuff I needed was $18 a metre, so I will wait for the January sales.

What a fabulous haul! Both the green rayon (3:30) and pretty pale blue rayon with large flowers (3:47) would make lovely shirred dresses either with straps like the one you're wearing or puffed sleeves (like Rosery Apparel) I LOVE the navy poplin with lots of coloured flowers (5:14) might need to see if I can get some of that for myself! If you're looking for a name for that fabric, I'd be thrilled if you called it Simone. Culling some of the vast range of patterns and fabrics is a great idea not only from a customer point of view but it might also ease the pressure on your current storage capacity. Reducing the number of patterns available at any one time will give greater scope to 'refresh' your collections each season or however often you'd like to introduce new prints. Having a squillion prints at a market is quite a different thing to a website as you would well know. I'm sure some of the other customers must look on in wonder as fabric is measured out and cut for you! I don't buy fabric in the volumes you do but even I get inquisitive looks and sometimes even questions about what I'm planning to do with the fabrics I buy. There's so many good sales and offers on at the moment, it's hard to know whether to buy this week or wait for a potentially better offer next week. I've been shopping a Lincraft quite a bit recently as they have a $5 range that's perfect for my bags. With recent discounts I got a ton of the $5 fabric for $2.30 a metre!! Yay!! They even included approx 25 metres of already reduced interlock at the same price for me. I use this to make hats for the local cancer centres. Lots of sewing ahead in the coming weeks for me .... and a few sales I hope too! Best wishes, Simone ♥

They are such pretty ones Simone! I’ll definitely name one after you with my next release such a great idea 😁 I think I will have to my range is to big! I’m such a fabric hoarder tho so it’ll be hard lol. I definitely get alot of looks or comments! I feel quite bad taking up so much of their time but sale usually isn’t very busy luckily so I wasn’t holding up anyone which was good! That’s so exciting the closest lincraft to me is about 2 hours away, it would be great to go check it out one day! Such bargains! That’s so lovely of you to make and donate. Happy sewing and thank you for your lovely comment always the highlight of my day 💞✨

I have very specific taste, and tend to think a lot of prints that other people like are ugly (eek, lolz), or just not my style. Hence, I might make the mistake of overlooking fabric that I don't like but that may sell well to the wider public. As a seller, I'd love to hear you talk about fabric trends, how to spot what the public likes and buys more of, and how to identify these trends regardless of whether you like the fabric personally or not. Just a cheeky video idea that I think would be interesting. :D PS I have the same overwhelming fabric addiction, it's out of control!

Have you ever thought about making infinity scarves for market? Your rayon would be perfect and they sew together very quickly.

I enjoy watching you vlogs. I too went crazy fabric shopping at spotlight the other day. Do you wash your all your fabrics before you sew scrunchies? Not sure if I should wash them before sewing. I have deluxe satin and stretch velour.

Rayon is a lot thinner and “lighter” in a way so I’m afraid it doesn’t work as a Scrunchie, how do you battle this?
@TaylahRose3 жыл бұрын
Just as Claire suggested! I now use 29 inch with rayon, it still can get squished but it’s much better than when I was using 18inchsss
