Massive fire destroys playground, causes 'significant' damage to bridge over Ohio River

Was there a homeless encampment under that part of the bridge? Where did the fuel for such a massive fire come from? Playground equipment would NOT provide enough fuel for such a fire as that! Nor would grass and leaves! Were they storing pallets or something like that underneath the bridge like they were doing at the bridge fire in LA that shut that freeway down? Why are "officials" allowing all this fuel to accumulate underneath these critical bridges? That's just asking for trouble!

I'd like to hear from Chief McKinley as to why the fire department allowed what must have been a huge amount of combustible material to sit directly under the bridge? How many more ticking time bombs do we have in the city because the fire department apparently slept through fire prevention 101 class? The video of the fire is unbelievable and points to gross negligence on the part of the Cincinnati Fire Department. This is a very public and visible space. The CFD needs to be transparent on what exactly was sitting directly under a major bridge that produced this disaster and why they apparently did nothing to prevent it.

There was a jet plane replica on the playground. There are 200 new construction job openings in the area right now ,and the bridge will be replaced with a bigger, taller one.

The thing about it is this, there is never enough used to pad a playground area to cause a massive fire like this. And like user-roadwander stated, it won't burn like that unless an accelerant was used to make it burn. Just try setting a tire on fire, it's next to impossible to set a tire on fire without gasoline, diesel, to get it started or putting in on an already hot fire.
