7900xtx is absolute fire. I have a 4090 in one system and a 7900xtx in the other. the price difference isn't even close to worth it. 7900xtx for 800 bucks is 100% recommended pending next generation releases.

If you game 8 hours per day its like 30 cents on both cards. its not a big deal to me personally. I only game 3 hours each day.

The whole 5060-5080 stack will be chopped to hell like 40 series to give us just enough of an uplift. Nvidia could have just rereleased 40 series and moved everything up a card model at the same price and given everyone better value but thats the opposite of whats happening. I'd say some actual deals might be had on 4080 and 4090 laptop, but those series are actually supposed to get big gains for 50 class

I got a 4090, play in 4k, never had a problem, super happy with performance. Melted connectors are mostly user end error (plugging the g card with Y CONNECTORS when it clearly says in the little booklet they give with it to not to😂. I like how every generation everybody hates on the top gpu because they cant have it. Every, single one. Usually theses people still talk how the 1080ti was king from fu**ing 10 years ago.

I got a 4090 and its a great card. Runs cool and basically never really that challenged by any games. It runs so well infact i might not even bother with the 5000 series. Nothing really needs more than that.

The fun fact is that 7900xt (I guess it was even Asus TUF) was sold already maybe for the price around 7900GRE (600usd)in 5/2024 It seems it was either AMD sponsored or Asus already expected new gen to come out this year. It was 10 percent below current cheapest other 7900xt (Gigabyte and Sapphire have some at around 700USD+local VAT, in EU). Anyway the price jumped back to the rest of XT offering). Where are those days when gpu prices dropped 30 percent off MSRP each year. But I am really curious how the new Nvidia and AMD gpus performance and prices come out. Also Intel new cpus are almost a must to make some healthy competition for desktop cpus. I thinkit was rather AI than AMD 8800XT not matching expected performance. 56CU/5376 Shader units with 16GB and 256bit bus won't beat 7800XT in raster alot. Also going from 5nm to 4nm for GCD only won't make miracle even I know node doesn't scale for cache (which is going to be on same node anyway)... The extra performance in raytracing can be welcome but for me its just heavy taxing feature. Maybe I will try out raytracing finally ( if I get Deus Ex mankind divided) to see whats going on😅.

About 2 weeks ago, I got a 4080 Super on deal in Canada, it was slightly less than the U.S mrsp. (Usually stuff costs a bit more even with the exchange rate.). It replaces the 3090 in my office pc AND I LIKE how cool it runs, 50-52C under load vs 90-95C for the 3090. My office temperature dropped by 4C with the AC on!

The 285K still won't outperform an X3D CPU in gaming, which has 3x the cache. It is also just the same old junk, with higher clocks and power consumption. It is clear from 13th and 14th gen silicon degradation that intel desperately needs a new microarchitecture in order to remain competitive. They're still using the P6 microarchitecture from 1995 and I am surprised more people aren't talking about this fact. A slick new name doesn't change the fact that intel CPUs are hot garbage.

I doubt the upcoming GPU lineup will be interesting for most gamers. The 60/70 cards are likely gonna be 8/12gb and we will then have to wait for the 3gb per chip refresh to get a proper 12/18gb. Ill keep my eyes open regarding used 4070 ti super and 4080 super or non-super. 3090 is also an option. I hope they will start making the 3gb chip variants soon. I want a card that still has resell value after 4 or 6 years.

Nvidia continues to sell and manufacture way older cards, but discontinues last gen flagships....glad i own a 3090ti fe and 4090 fe. The 50 series performance gains will be miniscule like the last few gens, a bump in clock speed,vram and power consumption. Doubt the gains will justify the price.

You don't need a 5080 gpu to hit 500+ fps you could already hit 300+ fps with integrated graphics these days for light games like valorant then if you add like a current gen gpu even with a bottom tier one excluding nvidia's 50 class card you could already hit 500+ fps

@@Decki777 try native 1440p cp 2077 using dlaa with maxxed out ray tracing at 120 fps which is what I'm getting. With any other card you'd be getting 80 fps or less and I like staying over 100 fps.
